2 with the various Vice Chancellors in matters relating to the College; coordination with registration, etc. This is, of course, in addition to teaching nine hours of courses in the areas of Translation (undergraduate and postgraduate levels) and Linguistics. 2) Chairperson of the English Department: College of Arts and Sciences, University of Sharjah Duties included: providing leadership to the department and overseeing all administrative and academic matters including budgeting, preparation of documents for accreditation, scheduling, recruitment, college committee membership, course distribution, development of new programs and courses within the Department and at the University level. During this period, I also taught Language, Linguistics and Translation courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 4) Chairperson, Community Service and Professional Development Center, University of Sharjah Duties included: setting up training centers in Sharjah, Deba, Khor Fakkan and Kalba to provide further training for university and school graduates. These centers gave rise to the Community College and the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Sharjah. 5) Professor of Linguistics and Translation: until now Department of English, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sharjah. Duties include: teaching courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; program and course development; participation in the accreditation process; committee membership at the college and departmental levels; teaching Language, Linguistics and Translation courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 5) Associate Professor of of Linguistics and Translation: Department of English, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sharjah Duties included: teaching courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Language, Linguistics and Translation; program and course development; participation in the accreditation process; committee membership at the college and departmental levels, etc. 6) Associate Professor of Linguistics and Translation: , College of Languages and Media, University of Ajman, United Arab Emirates, Duties performed were not any different from those I undertook at the University of Sharjah before I was appointed Chairperson of the Department.

I have also supervised the transition of the English Language Center from TOEFL to IELTS.
