5 5 The ACCA qualification The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) sets an international standard of excellence in accounting and finance. It awards qualifications that are recognised worldwide by employers across banking, management and consulting. Being ACCA accredited opens doors for your career progression and earning potential. It also allows you to become a Registered Auditor and join the ACCA members club giving you access to a range of advanced professional development resources. Registration with ACCA You should register for exams in your chosen subjects with ACCA before starting your course. You must also make sure you meet all ACCA entry requirements including two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects. Your entry route will also depend on your age and academic qualifications. For instance, degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempt from up to 9 exams. You must proceed through the 4 levels in order, but papers within each level may be taken in any order. You will be able to register for examinations (either computer or paper based) at ACCA s worldwide centres twice a year. You may sit a maximum of 4 papers at once.
