Comm 3000 Online I developed an online version of our Comm 3000 Communication Theory course (first offered Spring 2014) to better accommodate our students who are in need of flexible university options. Community Engaged Learning Beginning in Fall 2013 I transformed the Comm 3150 (research methods) course I teach into a Community Based Learning Course. For the first semester, my class took on the Provost s Engaged Learning Series as our client and sought to research a wide variety of communication issues (issue identification, marketing, public relations, civic advocacy, etc.) as they relate to the campus s engagement with the issue of Air. For the second semester (Spring, 2014), I have formed a partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Through this partnership, my students will conduct surveys and interviews in the community to provide feedback to Habitat about their community profile. The goal is to continue to partner with Habitat and/or other community partners in future semesters (e.g. Summer, 2014). In the next phase, my students will conduct surveys & interviews of current Habitat home owners for Habitat for Humanity's grant writing purposes. Undergraduate Research I have mentored a number of undergraduate research projects both in and out of the classroom. My students have presented at the Office of Undergraduate Research symposium, the WSU Day at the Capitol, the Center for Community Engaged Learning Service Symposium and in other venues. Research, scholarship, creative activities: In the last 10 years, what are your most significant research, scholarship, or creative activities.
