1 Visit your college library from home! Central Piedmont Community College recognizes that in order to better meet the needs of today s learners, the college needs to bring its services directly to the students wherever and whenever they are needed. This informational kiosk will introduce you to the many options available through CPCC Libraries which allow students to access the material they need and conduct research anywhere, anytime!

2 Why use the library? With the advent of the Internet, many individuals began to use the Internet as their primary source for information. While the Internet is certainly a convenient tool, librarians and scholars caution individuals that the information available via the Internet is not always accurate or based upon sound research. By accessing resources available through CPCC Libraries, students can feel assured that the materials they access, whether in person at the physical library or online through the library s web site, have been carefully evaluated by professional librarians.

3 CPCC s online library is open all day, every day! Serving over 70,000 students, CPCC recognizes that many students are not always available to visit their campus library during regular business hours. This is why CPCC s online library is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our online catalog, carefully screened electronic resources, online full-text databases, and 24 hour assistance from professionally trained librarians at CPCC and throughout the nation are all available at your fingertips. To get started, all you need is a computer, a high speed Internet connection, and your college login and password. To take a tour of the online services CPCC Libraries has to offer, visit our Main Menu on the next screen.

4 Central Piedmont Community College Libraries provide an array of online services to students. To access these services, simply visit the CPCC Library website on your computer. To obtain optimal performance for your online library experience, a high speed Internet connection is recommended. You will also need your CPCC login and password (received when you enrolled at CPCC) to access some of the online library services. To learn more about the many online library services available at CPCC, select any of the options listed at the right of this screen. If you locate an item you wish to request while browsing online, you can make this request online and choose which campus you would like to have your item delivered. You will receive an notification when the item is available for checkout in your specified CPCC library. In addition to print resources and physical copies of audio and video resources available for check out or use in the physical library, there are many electronic resources available to students and faculty as well. Continue on to the next screen to find out more. Page 1/3
