3 CRICOS Set Up As you may already be aware, if you intend to offer education or training services to students studying in Australia on student visas, you are required to seek approval from the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), and comply with the Australian Government legislative requirements for registration on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Only approved CRICOS providers can enrol overseas students or issue Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and statements of attainment. CRICOS Registration with ASQA ASQA can register the following providers on CRICOS: registered training organisations (RTOs) seeking to offer vocational education and training courses; and providers seeking to offer English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) courses. For courses to be registered on CRICOS the provider must: be registered as an RTO for the delivery of vocational education and training (VET) courses demonstrate they meet the ELICOS National Standards for ELICOS courses demonstrate they meet the requirements of the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and the National Code. When applying for CRICOS Registration the Application should be read in conjunction with: The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act); Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Regulations 2001; The National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2007 (National Code); The National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011; and National Standards for ELICOS Providers and Courses (ELICOS Standards). Service to be Provided The following is an overview of the services Velg Training offer, for the purpose of setting up a CRICOS Registered Training Organisation. CRICOS Application 1. Assistance with the completion of the application form (provider to complete and Velg Training will check and advise); 2. Staff Handbook containing information that must be provided to staff to meet legislative requirements as well as best practice advice and links to policies and procedures required to be provided to staff; 3. Student Handbook containing information that must be provided to students to meet legislative requirements, best practice and links to policies and procedures required to be provided to students; and 4. 4 Additional Items / Services Provided Advice on providers prepared marketing material; Advice on providers prepared course timetables to ensure they are CRICOS compliant; and Advice on providers CRICOS website content. 5 Additional Consulting Fees: Any travel expenses for the consultant (flights, accommodation, meals and a travel fee where applicable). Velg Training is committed to purchasing the cheapest flights available based upon start times and modest accommodation close to the venue.
