6 5 ACCA SYLLABUS & EXAM REGULATIONS WHAT is ACCA? ACCA stands for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. It is an organization that awards successful candidates with the professional qualification, ACCA. ACCA was founded in 1904 and today is present in over 170 countries. The ACCA qualification has gained world-wide popularity over the past century. Professionals with the ACCA qualification are known for their thorough knowledge and insights in accounting, finance, audit HOW are the EXAMS STRUCTURED? The ACCA program consists of 14 subjects. These courses are classified into two different levels Fundamental and Professional. Both these levels are further broken down into two modules each. Fundamental level consists of the Knowledge and Skills modules and the Professional level consists of the Essential and Optional module TEACHING METHODOLOGY Students at Lynchpin Training are trained using an optimized combination of teaching methods and material. 7 6 WHAT are the ENTRY ROUTES? There are two entry routes for ACCA; a. Foundation route (begins with FIA Foundations in Accounting) b. Professional route (begins with Knowledge module) WHO is ELIGIBLE foracca? Following are different scenarios ACCA applicants may belong to: a. High school graduates High school graduates may enroll in ACCA through the Foundation route. b. Bachelors or Masters Graduates with degrees issued by ACCA accredited universities can be exempted from up to 9 ACCA exams. Those with bachelor s/master s degree in accounting-related subjects take the Professional route. c. Others Individuals without high school certificates or a bachelors or masters degree can also enter through Foundation route. Relevant Work Experience can be completed before, at the same time, or after the exams.

9 DEADLINES a ACCA EXAM REGISTRATION 8 CBE (Computer Based Exam) Lynchpin Training conducts CBE for FIA and Knowledge Module courses. Students are required to register two days prior to the date they have chosen to take their exam. Special arrangements may be made for students who wish to take their exams on an urgent basis. PBE (Paper Based Exam) PBEs are conducted at testing centers approved by ACCA. All ACCA exams can be attempted as PBEs. The deadlines for PBEs registration are April 8 and October 8. The exams are conducted during second or third weeks of June and December. b CLASS REGISTRATION FIA and Knowledge Module Lynchpin Training conducts CBE for FIA and Knowledge Module courses. Students are required to register two days prior to the date they have chosen to take their exam. Special arrangements may be made for students who wish to take their exams on an urgent basis. Skill Module and Professional Level Registrations in Skill Module and Professional Level happen semi-annually. New batches begin in January, February, July and August. c EXEMPTIONS Lynchpin Training offers absolutely free support to enrolled students as well as non-enrolled students in finding exemptions that could be awarded to them. The deadlines to apply for exemption are April 8 and October 8. It takes approximately 2 weeks for the results to come in.
