COURSE DESCRIPTION: INTC 2310 Principles of Industrial Measurements II. CIP Additional principles of measurement. Includes devices used to measure process variables and basic control functions. Principles and practices used with advanced flow and level applications. The course will involve a detailed review of the installation, configuration, output options, and troubleshooting recommendations for the transmitters involved. The transmitters will include coriolis, vortex, turbine, ultrasonic and magnetic flowmeters. The level transmitters will be radar, guided and unguided. All work will be accomplished using Hart communicators along with an introduction to local display interfaces. Output signals will consist of standard 4-20 ma Hart, frequency, pulse, and an introduction to digital formats (fieldbus). (3 SCH, 2 lecture, 2 lab) Steve Reckner Gary Hicks Jeff Detrick January 2017
