Previous Course Review: October, Pathways/ admission IELTS If English is not your first language or was not the medium of instruction in your tertiary studies, you are required to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language by achieving a prescribed level in an approved English examination or test. Your English language proficiency test must be no more than two years old at the time you commence your studies at AC. Students are required to have attained an International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) score or equivalent to a 6.5 or higher, with no band scores lower than 6.0. Academic Entry Requirements Completion of NSW Higher School Certificate with an ATAR of no less than 65, or the completion of the interstate or overseas equivalent qualification and result, or equivalent; OR Completion of an AQF Level 4 Certificate IV or higher by an authorised institution or registered training organisation. OR Applicants aged 21+ may be eligible for on the basis of mature age (provisional entry). These students will need to successfully complete their first 4 subjects to be permitted to continue without the Provisional Entry restrictions.

3 3. Course Rationale The Bachelor of Ministry is designed to prepare graduates for ministry within church and community settings. The BMin aims to integrate a well-developed foundation in Christian Studies with a broad and coherent theoretical and practical knowledge in an area of specialised ministry. General skills in communication and problem solving are developed alongside specialist knowledge and expertise in their chosen specialisation. Theories are applied and professional skills are developed through practical assessments and work-integrated learning. There is a special emphasis on leadership to ensure that graduates are instilled with a sense of responsibility and the Christian ethic of caring for their neighbour. In this sense, the BMin acts as an integrated environment for the preparation of students who wish to develop theological understanding and professional skills in and for a diverse range of ministry applications. This also can take them on to postgraduate qualification in a selected area of practice. Course Structure: Title of the course of study: Structure of the course of study: Bachelor of Ministry The course structure is based on six semesters (each of 12 weeks duration, plus an exam week), with four subjects taught in each semester. It comprises: 110 credit points core subjects 80 credit points of specialisation 50 credit points of electives To qualify for award of the degree of Bachelor of Ministry a candidate shall accrue an aggregate of at least 240 credit points, including satisfactory completion of the core subjects noted below.
