3 Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme is a specifically designed package for in-service untrained teachers working in primary/ upper primary schools of different states of the country. The programme has been developed by the Academic Department, NIOS on the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005, RTE 2009 and NCFTE 2010.

4 The under graduate and graduate teachers have to register themselves on the web portal of National Institute of Open Schooling ( where they can get the course learning free of cost. The study material will be available on the web portal. However they need to pay Rs 4500 for 1 st year and Rs for 2 nd year as exam fee which will be held in June 2018 and the final exam in March-April Last date of registration will be 15 th of September State Nodal Officer to be nominated

Eligibility Untrained Teachers working at Primary level (I- IV/V) having Sr. Secondary Qualification (or its equivalent) and Untrained Teachers working at Upper Primary level (V/VI VIII) having B.A.

9 Eligibility Untrained Teachers working at Primary level (I- IV/V) having Sr. Secondary Qualification (or its equivalent) and Untrained Teachers working at Upper Primary level (V/VI VIII) having B.A./B. Sc. Qualification. State sponsorship is mandatory. Duration The Minimum duration of the programme is two years. However, the registration of a learner to the programme shall be valid for a period of three years.

10 The programme will be offered both in Online and offline mode through NIOS. Online Mode will be through Swayam Portal wherein online Lectures, Tutorials will be available. Offline Mode will be again through Swayam and the lectures will be available through Television (TV) the lecturers will be available on DD channels from 6:00 am to 9:00 am OR 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm OR 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Lectures will start from 2nd October Mobile App will also be made available.

11 The course delivery will have a major component of internship and contact sessions. The internship consisting of practical sessions includes three types of activities such as School Based, Workshop Based and Practice Teaching. A 12-day Workshop in a year, School Based Activities in FIRST YEAR supervised by the Supervisor/Mentor and Practice Teaching in SECOND YEAR, also supervised by the Supervisor/Mentor. Personal Contact sessions include 15 tutoring sessions in a year at study centres.

12 The NCERT has developed draft Learning Outcomes 2017 for each class in Languages (Hindi, English and Urdu), Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science and Social Science up to the Elementary stage. Care was taken to develop the outcomes following consultations with States, UTs, SCERTs and education experts from organizations including civil society organizations.

Date of appointment : DD : MM : YYYY Submit Button After Submission, the entire form with entries will be displayed for view with following buttons Edit Button Payment Button The Edit Button will take back the user to the Registration Form else the Payment Button will take the user to the next step of registration to Payment gateway for making online payment of Course Fee. Course Fee: Rs. 6000/- per Year per learner. However for the registration an amount of Rs.1500/- has been exempted to enable the Teacher to procure the DISH TV Set top box to watch the video lectures on SWAYAMPRABHA DTH Channel no. 32 telecast 24X7 for the D.El.Ed course under Teacher Education. The balance of Rs.4500/ is to be paid online by the Teacher for the First Year Course Fee. A 10 digit Reference number starting with D (D ) is generated. Automated SMS Alert and is sent to the Teacher regarding registration details with Reference number.

20 o Confirm Password 2.3 Login by the Principal of the School Once the Principal Registers then he/she can Login into the system by providing the -id, Mobile No. and the Password given during the registration in the previous step. 2.4 Authentication of the Teacher Record by the Principal of the School All the data of the Teacher registered with this UDISE code or with the same School Name of which she/he is Principal, will be displayed in a grid form with Authentication Button RefNo Name AadharNo. Application Authentication EnrolmentNo. Status The Principal will tick the check box appearing below the Authentication Button and automatically the 14 digits EnrolmentNo. will be Generated confirming the admission of the Teacher. 3. Login/Registration by the State Nodal Officer 3.1 Registration by the State Nodal Officer The Principal will register by providing the Following information o -ID o Mobile o Password (6-8 Characters)

21 3.2 Login by the State Nodal Officer Once the State Nodal Officer Registers then he/she can Login into the system by providing the -id and the Password given during the registration in the previous step. The State Nodal Officer can view all the registration data of the untrained Teachers of the particular State. The data can be viewed District wise. 4. MIS Reports 4.1 Based on the above registration data various MIS reports will be generated State wise No. of Untrained Teachers State wise/district wise/school wise No. of Untrained Teachers District wise/school wise list of Untrained Teachers 5. The minimum qualification required for admission in D.El.Ed. (ODL) for untrained in-service teachers is 50% marks in aggregate at Sr. Secondary (Class12th) (or its equivalent). For SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates a relaxation of 5% marks is admissible 2. Those who are not fulfilling the minimum qualification of 50% at 12th level can take admission in NIOS for improvement under Stream-1 or Stream-4 (On- Demand Examination) as part credit in one subject, 2 subjects, three subjects or upto four subjects. Successful candidates will be issued only a Mark Statement. Mobile App The mobile app with the name NIOS_DElEd is available in the play store by which online admission can be taken along with access to the course material of the D.El.Ed course.
