2 OBJECTIVE Sharing the Concept of Education Television that can broadcast the TV content over the high-speed TEIN network to promote collaborative opportunities, research and cross-culture interactions.

3 BACKGROUND Pakistan Education & Research Network (PERN) has taken various initiative to support the technology to provide platform for relevant communities TEIN has played vital role in supporting with not only high speed links but also providing funds for capacity building and developing collaborative linkages.

5 SOFTWARE DEFINE NETWORK An application project of TEIN*CC was launched during 2015 namely A Community Effort towards Open/Shared SDN-Cloud Virtual Playground. The project was initiated by Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea along with the TEIN partnering countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia

6 TELEMEDICINE OVER PERN From the Operation Theater facility of Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi Live surgeries on Advanced Upper G.I. Laparoscopy. Currently video conferencing and PERN facility is being provided to allied hospitals of PIEAS to promote Online Lectures Clinical Activities Training/ Workshops

8 PROBLEM STATEMENT Potential available in Higher Education Institutes for content development and production. No platform exist for Media/ Mass communication community for collaborative work and research.

9 PERN INITIATIVE The Pakistan Education & Research Network (PERN) has deployed Higher Education Television to uplift the standard of higher education The initiative of Educational TV Channel is capitalized on the PERN and video conferencing facility that has provided platform mass/media communication universities to develop content around higher education.
