It provides resources and a forum to support assessment practitioners professional development and the research, documentation, open discussion of issues, strategies, policies, and processes associated with the use of assessment to improve student learning and institutional effectiveness in fostering student success. Our association supports the generation of theory and information about effective assessment. History of AALHE AALHE was established in late The Founding Board of Directors launched the organization with the intention of providing robust online resources and a wide range of both online and face-to-face interactive opportunities for assessment practioners. AALHE is an independently incorporated, member-funded, charitable organization recognized as tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Service code 501(c)(3). 2

7 Sponsor Policies and Procedures Shipping sponsor materials InterContinental will begin accepting packages mailed for conference purposes no earlier than June 8th, Please address boxes as follows: 1. Number of boxes (e.g. Box 1 of 2). Sponsor responsibilities and liabilities All materials must be addressed to the exhibitor and the group name with booth number (if available). Packages may be requested for delivery to the exhibit space through the front desk. Drayage fees of $5.00 per box or $60.00 per pallet will apply and may be billed to a guestroom or charged to a credit card. The delivering staff will provide a receipt for drayage when packages are accepted at the exhibit space. Outbound exhibit materials and equipment must be shipped within 2 business days after the event. Arrangements for materials to be picked up by courier or freight company is the responsibility of the exhibitor. All materials must be sealed with the shipping label clearly displayed. Sealed packages may be left at the exhibit space at the end. The safety of personnel and exhibit materials from theft, damage, accident, fire, or other such causes are the Exhibitors responsibility for insuring. Exhibitors who wish to carry insurance must do so at their own expense. Neither the InterContinental nor Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education maintains insurance covering the Exhibitor s property. It is expected that the Exhibitor will comply with local, city, and state fire, safety, and health ordinances regarding the installation and operation of equipment. All measures shall be taken by Exhibitor to prevent personal injury to spectators. No flammable or hazardous materials should be used in displays. Exhibitors agree not to affix items to walls, floors, or other parts of the building or furniture. Exhibitors who do not comply with this request will be responsible for damages to the hotel. Exhibitor is responsible and will defend Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education and the InterContinental and their respective employees and agents against any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of Exhibitor s use of the premises. 7
