The application process requires an intense period of dedication on your part to ensure that you develop the strongest application possible. As a potential candidate, you first should investigate the websites of all fellowships in which you are interested. The CURF web page has a direct link to all of the major national fellowship home pages. Next, attend an information session on Wednesday, August 27 th at 3:00 pm in the Connelly Cinema to review eligibility requirements and to go over the requirements and timelines for National Scholarship Programs. In order to prepare the most effective application(s), you also should begin to identify and work closely with select faculty and other resource persons familiar with your area of academic interest. You also should select referees who are quite familiar with you and your work; provide your prospective referees with as much information as you can about your proposal and related activities, and be very clear about how they can address areas in their recommendations that would be of greatest support in your candidacy. Also provide them with the cover letter and sample recommendation letters that will be included with your pre-application materials.
