2 We have tried to give you the module information you need for choosing your modules as early as possible so you are able to make an informed choice. The following module information is provisional and indicative. It is possible that due to changes in staff availability some modules may not be available next year. Other modules may switch terms. The reading lists accompanying the module descriptions are also indicative and may change. If this happens, you will be informed immediately. Please ensure you check your s (your Brunel account) regularly for updates.

3 The module selection task on Evision opens in May you will be informed when it is possible to choose your modules so keep checking your s regularly. Choose your modules as soon as possible English (not Creative Writing, except EN3xxx Writing Poetry for Performance) modules are capped English (not Creative Writing) modules will need to recruit a minimum number of students in order to run: all modules with less than 10 students enrolled by 30 June 2012 will be removed. Students who have chosen modules that are withdrawn due to lack of demand will be notified and asked to choose another module. Again, check your Brunel s regularly.

4 Single Honours English students EN3003 Special Project (40 credits) and EN3xxx Post-War and Late Twentieth Century Literature (20 credits) are compulsory - you will be enrolled automatically TERM 1: You may choose ONE additional English module OR 1 English module PLUS AH3001 Analysis of Work Experience YOU MAY NOT CHOOSE 2 ADDITIONAL ENGLISH MODULES FROM TERM 1 TERM 2: You will be left with either 20 or 40 credits to choose from the available term 2 modules You MAY choose AH3001 Analysis of Work Experience AND EN3xx The Creative Industries All modules are capped at 30 and allocated on a first-come-firstserved basis. The cap will not be raised under any circumstances - so please enrol as early as possible.

There are no caps on Creative Writing modules, but the English modules will be capped so please be aware of this. Remember to try and balance your terms as much as possible.

8 English with Creative Writing Students You must do EITHER the 40 credit English Special Project (EN3003) OR the 40 credit Creative Writing Project (EN3000) If you choose EN3003 then you may choose EITHER 40 OR 60 credits (i.e. 2 OR 3 modules) from the modules below. If you choose EN3000 then you may choose 20 OR 40 credits from the following modules. The remaining credits should be chosen from the available modules in your two subjects: you should have a total of 60 credits in each of your subjects.
