The BA in English and History combines the investigation of English texts with a study of their historical context, developing your appreciation of the complex relationship between texts and the past Students are invited to explore literature from the classical period to the modern, combining the traditional lecture and seminar format with more innovative methods such as field-trips and problembased learning Our expertise in History is concentrated in the modern period, from approximately 1600 to the present, incorporating international, economic, social and cultural history and many geographical areas
