1 Summer Academy 2014 Nizhoni Academy Positions Available College Supplemental Instructor Length of Employment Approximate Preparation / Training Date(s): Wed, May 28 through Sat, May 31, 2014 Instructional Program: Monday, June 2 to Saturday, July 2, 2014 (No classes Sat, June 14) Job Description: Participates in classroom/curriculum preparation prior to students arrival Collaborates with NOYCE Interns and Science Instructor Participate in student CCC Orientation Conduct instructional sessions; including SI, Mentoring Curriculum, as assigned Conduct evening tutorial sessions, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings 6:15-8:15p Participates in weekly team meetings to discuss classroom progress and methodology and to prepare assignments, classroom activities, and other instructional materials Utilizes technology for classroom time and assignments Cultivates relationships with culturally diverse program participants Supervises and conducts field trips Submits required documentation (e.g. attendance, weekly grade reports, student papers, course evaluations, etc.) by designated deadlines Attend Academy Graduation Sat, June 28, 2014, 9a-noon Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled college student Student tutoring experience Technology experience: MS Office Suite and Blackboard Desired Qualifications: Previous experience with Summer Programs Bachelor s degree Extensive technology experience Salary (disbursed according to NAU payroll schedule): Supplemental Instructor $1800 Application Deadline: May 14, 2014 Questions: Princess Benally, Program Coordinator Nizhoni Academy Princess.Benally@nau.edu
