2 Conference Forward The Higher Education (HE) system has evolved through the ages to serve the current and immediate future needs of the society. The first formal version of HE 1.0 addressed Guru-Shishya method of teaching, HE 2.0 dealt with mass education with the teacher as the knowledge provider and the student as the passive recipient, HE 3.0 emphasised on the use of computers and internet in teaching and learning, which helped in increasing access and equity and HE 4.0 emphasised on high-speed internet, mobile technology, social media platforms etc. HE 4.0 will move from painful data dumping to the quest for creativity, collaboration, problem solving ability, higher order thinking, and the sheer joy of discovery. It is no longer just about cognition in a classroom; it is about total immersion of the leaner in real life situations. It facilitates personalized learning anytime anywhere and changes the role of teachers to facilitators and mentors. The challenge of HE 4.0 is to develop curriculum and delivery systems that are relevant to the region, economic area and level of economic development, maturity of markets and aspiration of the society. If the aspirations of the society are met, then the current challenges of migration of people from rural to semi urban and semi urban to urban will decrease, thus preventing the decay of cities and towns, solving the issues of congestion and bringing about equitable use of resources to a large extent. The pace of change in geopolitical scenario, aspirations of global society and advances of technology and science will make it almost inescapable that the beneficiaries of Higher Education 4.0 have to continuously and regularly unlearn and relearn. It is also about time that the educators go beyond the conceptual theories of entrepreneurial education. The motive is to develop right attitude, right skills and right eco system to create and sustain entrepreneurial ventures. Today, the sources of knowledge are global and hence, HE 4.0 is about preparing students for future leadership positions in a globalized knowledge society. Education institutions and regulatory framework have to embrace HE 4.0 technologies and processes at a much faster pace than it did more than three decades ago when computer education came to India. This conference will provide a platform for the stakeholders of Higher education to prepare a roadmap for all HEIs to adapt to this change. We are confident that various recommendations from this conference will help in formulating a long-term plan and strategies to achieve the objective of Education for all and Work for all and enable in fulfilling the aspirations of 1.25 billion people.
3 Conference Objectives The Conference is aimed at exploring:- 1. Is Indian higher education sector ready for Industrial Revolution 4.0? 2. How to build features in the curriculum and delivery that makes relearning a second nature for students? 3. How are institutional leaders pro-actively shifting gears to shape the future of higher education? 4. How to bring in the vast majorities of underserved learners into the emerging learning networks? 5. What policy interventions may be needed? Relevance Conference will be of relevance to academia, industry, policy makers and other support organizations. 4 Key Dates Last date for submitting the full paper with abstract: Notification of acceptance of full paper: Event Highlights Keynote speeches: Eminent personalities from industry, academia and government will share their thoughts on the theme and its relevance. Panel discussions: Elite panellists from diverse domains will share their experiences on opportunities, challenges, plans and global implications of Higher Education 4.0. Technical sessions: Experts will speak on various topics related to the theme of the conference, followed by paper presentations. Guidelines to Authors Softcopy of the full paper with abstract, not exceeding 4000 words should be submitted in APA format, with a brief resume of the author, ID and phone number. The full paper, accompanied by a statement of originality stating the paper has not been published elsewhere and is the original work of the author, must be sent to the following ID: usha.mlafgcw@gmail.com The full paper will be subjected to blind review by a panel of eminent academicians. The acceptance of the paper will be communicated through to the first author of the paper. The selected papers will be published in an E-journal JIJCM bearing ISSN: / IJRAR (UGC approved Journal). The organization has successfully implemented Quality concepts under the TQM umbrella across several industry verticals who have experienced a phenomenal enhancement of their work processes and productivity after implementation of Quality Concept Tools. QCFI represents India in the 13 national/ International Committee that has been set up for organizing International conventions on Quality Concept Circle, annually. To date, QCFI has organized three International convention in India.
