3 Accessing the Online Course 1. Go to 2. Click on Student Login, as shown below. 3. Click on your course, as shown below 3

4 4. Input your address, as shown below. 4b. Input your password (the one you selected upon registering for the course), as shown below. 4

5 5. You will be directed to the following screen. 5

6 6. Note the office hours and the online interpreting lab monitoring hours. Then click on the Continue to your Course Website blue button. 6a. If you already had a live assessment and your instructor suggested any remedial seminar, you will be directed to the following page after you complete step (6). 6

7 If you want to access the assigned remedial seminar, please click on the Access the Remedial Seminar(s) blue button. You will be directed to the following screen. 7

8 7. If you were not assigned any remedial seminar by your evaluator or you do not want to access the remedial seminars at this time, then click on the Access the Course Website blue button. At this point, the system will check if your instructor is online, ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have. 7a. If your instructor is live, you will see the following screen. If you want to access your instructor, then click on the Click Here to Access your instructor blue button. In this case, you will see the screen on the next page. 8

11 After clicking on the Access Now blue button, the system will ask you to launch an app and within 60 seconds you will be able to see your instructor and talk to him/her. 8. If your instructor is not available online or you do not want to access your instructor, then you will be directed to the Main Menu. Course Website 11

12 Live Assistant Instructor Every week, you may access one of our Assistant Instructors to ask questions, request to be monitored while interpreting or to ask any question regarding your program. Click on the button as shown blow to access an Assistant Instructor. If an Assistant Instructor is not available, you will see the message shown below. When the Assistant Instructor is available, you will see the following message and Connect Now button. 12

13 Live Seminars As part of your online interpreting course, you will have access to live seminars offered by your instructor, by an expert witness in a given field (such as a doctor or a Forensic pathologist from Latin America), by attorneys from the US and Latin America, and by many other guest speakers. To sign up for the free upcoming live seminars, click on the button as shown below. The following page will be shown. Click on the live seminar of your choice to sign up for it. 13

14 Accessing the Video Lectures Page To access the video lectures page, please click on the Video Lectures button as shown below. 14

16 Lectures are divided into before and after the break. Each lecture is around 1.5 hours. There are a total of 18 lectures (9 before and 9 after the break). The first step you must complete is to download the course material. To do so, please click on the Download Course Material, as shown on the previous page. Downloading the Course Material 16

17 The deadline to complete each full lecture (before and after the break) is shown below the week number (see below). Your last access for each activity or lecture is also shown below the corresponding lecture and activity (see below). 17

18 Accessing a Lecture In order to access a lecture, simply click on the button corresponding to the lecture of your choice. You will be directed to the following page. Upon confirming that you would like to use one of your 23 access codes given to you upon registration, you will be directed to the following page. 18

19 We have two servers that provide you the streaming you need to watch a lecture. You may switch to a second server, if needed, as shown below. If you still have any technical issue with the second server, you may click on the message shown below. 19

20 Our platform will provide you a diagnostic as to why you are having technical issues and it will return your access code, as shown below. Scheduling your First Over-the-Phone Assessment Your course includes two live assessments with an instructor a first one in week number 5 and a second one in week number 11. You are required to schedule a convenient date and time for the assessment during week number 4 for the first assessment and during week number 10 for the second assessment, as shown on the next page. 20

22 Written Midterm and Final Examinations One of the requirements of your online course is to submit a written midterm and a written final examination. The midterm is available during week 5 and the final examination during week 11, as shown below. 22

23 Accessing the Online Interpreting Laboratory To access the Online Interpreting Laboratory, click on the Online Laboratory button, as shown below. 23

24 You will be directed to the following page. Our platform shows information on the number of hours you have logged in the Online Laboratory, the suggested number of hours required for this course, the number of days to complete the course and the last access date and time. 24

25 The platform also shown the date, time and contact phone number for the upcoming over-the-phone live assessment. Laboratory practices are divided by weeks, as shown below. 25

26 To access practice, simply click on the practice of your choice and you will be directed to the practice page, as shown below. You can send any question to your instructor while you are practicing. Simply click on the Send us your Questions button. 26

27 Student Resources Page Our platform includes a Student Resources Page where you can download a transcript, letter of attendance, receipt of payment, request an extension to complete your course, and request additional access codes (see below). 27

28 You may request a complimentary 5-day extension or purchase a 30-day extension, as shown below. 28

29 Your First or Second Live Assessment On the date and time set for your live assessment, one of our online evaluators will contact you by phone. The online evaluator will be able to see all your activity since the beginning of the course (see appendix for images of the screens your online evaluator will have access to on the date of your assessment). The online evaluator will ask you to access your course website. Once you are in the Main Menu, the online evaluator will ask you to click on the Online Laboratory Click Here to Access blue button, shown below. Instead of accessing your Online Laboratory, you will be directed to the following screen. The online evaluator will instructed to click on the corresponding version. 29

30 After you click on the version indicated by the online evaluator, you will be directed to the following screen and the evaluation will begin. Note: Sight Translation students may see a slightly different screen. After completing the assessment, your online evaluator will provide you with feedback on your performance, assign remedial seminars if needed, and prepare a report that will be sent to you by within 60 minutes from the conclusion of the evaluation. The online evaluator will ask you to click on the Do Not Click Here Until Told by the Evaluator blue button. 30

31 You will then be directed to the following screen. After you input your password and click on the Click here to Finish your Assessment blue button, you will be directed to our main page, as shown on the next page, and the assessment will be completed. 31
