3 Bangladesh College of General Practitioners AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To advance the art and science of medicine. To undertake research activities pertaining to community health and family medicine. To provide course of studies and training for general practitioners To provide support, scholarships, lecture etc. in Subjects associated with family medicine or general practice. To held examination, grant certificates, degrees, other diplomas, citation of distinction in recognition of proficiency in general practice. To organize and arrange seminars, workshop, clinical meeting and to discuss medical science. The College conducts the examination for Fellowship (FCGP) in Family medicine consisting of following curriculum: (a) Family Formation pattern & Health (c) Public health, Preventive and social medicines (b) Principles of Family Health & Family Medicare (d) Internal Medicine and its branches (e) General Surgery (f) Obstetrics & Gynecology (g) Pediatrics (h) E. N. T. (i) Ophthalmology (k) Clinical pathology (m) Dermatology & STD (o) Anesthesiology (q) MCH & Family planning (j) Radiology (l) Psychiatry (n) Oncology (p) Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (s) Nutrition & Dietetics.
4 SCHEDULE FOR THE REGULAR FCGP COURSE: Session : July to June Advertisement : 1 st Week of April. Weekly class : Friday lecture class & Saturday hospital duty & lecture Class hour : 9 a.m. to 12 noon & 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Class ends : Last week of May Dissertation subject distribution : 2 nd week of October Dissertation submission : 1 st week of April Assessment test : December, February & April Examination starts : 1 st Week of June. ADMISSION CRITERIA S: 01. Must have practice in the field of Family Medicine for not less than 2 years. 02. Must be a life of BPMPA 03. Must be registered with the BMDC. 04. Must pay the course fee. 05. Photo copy of MBBS Certificate duly attested- (2 Copies) 06. Photo copy of BMDC Registration certificate duly attested (2 Copies) 07. Five copies of passport size photographs duly attested by Fellow of BCGP. TOTAL COST OF FCGP COURSE: Application form fee TK Course fee TK - 63, Examination fee TK - 10, BPMPA Life Member Fee TK - 2, Total Tk - 75, PAYMENT'S: Admission Time Tk - 45, December Tk - 10, February Tk - 10, April Tk - 10, Total Tk - 75, EXAMINATIONS CRITERIA: 01. Three copies of Dissertation must be submitted within April. 02. Complete payment of FCGP course and Examination fee within 2 nd week of April.
5 DISTRIBUTION OF MARKS: Theoretical Examination Pass Marks Paper-I 100 marks : 60 Paper-II 100 marks : 60 Dissertation marks : Clinical Examination: OSCE/OSPE 50 marks LONG CASE Oral & Viva 50 marks 100 marks 200 : 120 Total 500 : 300 DISSERTATION: Each candidate should submit their dissertation in triplicate on or before 1 st week of April. Dissertation shall ordinarily be of at least 80 pages not less than 21 lines in each page. It should be typed written with double spacing. Dissertation should include at least 10 illustrative case notes on the topic. The Censor board will decide the topic and the guide under whom the work of the dissertation will be carried on. At least 60% marks should be obtained to qualify. OLD QUESTION PAPERS: Question papers of previous years for FCGP can be obtained from the College on payment of TK. 500/- (Five hundred) Enquiries should be made of the Secretary of the College. TRANSCRIPT CERTIFICATE FEE: Transcript certificate can be obtained on payment of TK-1000/- (if needed) CME PROGRAMME: Monthly CME Programme 1 st Friday of every month in academic secession. LIBRARY: The College has library in its premises which possesses current books and journals. It remains open on all week day except Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Library and its attached reading rooms can be used by FCGP fellow, FCGP students and BPMPA members no fees are charged, At present borrowing facilities are not available. OFFICE HOURS OF THE COLLEGE: The office hours of the college are from 8 am to 12 noon & 3pm to 5pm on all week days except Sunday. The office remains closed on Sunday and government holidays.
