Recruitment Step and Capacity A few students from each department within the scope of the degree program Foreign nationals whose parents are all foreigners and defectors are selected outside the classroom in consideration of the scholastic ability of the applicant. Qualifications Degree Qualifications Common 1 A student who acquired or will acquire a bachelor s degree in domestic or foreign college Master before Sept A student who has been certified to have an academic ability equivalent or higher than the above by the laws and regulations 1 A student who acquired or will acquire a master s degree in domestic or foreign college Doctor before Sept A student who has been certified to have an academic ability equivalent or higher than the above by the laws and regulations 1 A Korean national who has completed one or more semesters of master or doctoral program or any equivalent academic curriculum from domestic or foreign graduate school Transfer 2 A student who has been certified to have an academic ability equivalent or higher than the above by the laws and regulations 3 A student transferring into the School may have at most 18 credits to be certified. 1 If a person and a person s parents are foreigners 2 A Korean citizen residing in a foreign country who has completed all academic curriculums of primary education, secondary education, and college (graduate school) outside Korea Multiple applications will not be accepted. In principle, any instructor or any faculty may not apply. 3 A person fulfilling any of the following A, B, C or D: A. A person who has completed Korean language as a major or a minor Foreigner B. A person who has acquired the level 4 or higher of Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) [Arts & Physical Education level 3] C. A person who has completed a college (graduate school) in Korea or a person who has completed the level 3 or higher Korean language course D. Yet, a person shall have a certain level of English performance, and if officially requested by a head professor of the department applying, Korean proficiency of a person may be exempted. Certificate of graduation (with registration number of degree) If a schedule for dimploma is not available on-time, a certificate of enrollment may be submitted. If a certificate of graduation from a foreign college is not available, a certificate of degree (confirmation of comparison with original copy required) may be submitted. A certificate of master study and diploma (with registration number of degree) If a schedule for dimploma is not available on-time, a certificate of enrollment or a certificate of completion may be submitted. If a certificate of graduation from a foreign college is not available, a certificate of degree (confirmation of comparison with original copy required) may be submitted. A certificate of completion of enrollment, completion, or dismissal from semester A certificate of transcript in doctoral study Score, average, and percentage conversion score must be provided. College(graduate school) transfer scholars and double major students are required to include one copy of every College(graduate school) transcript. Statement of Purpose Refer to the Attachment Agreement of Background Check and Academic Record Only to those who has attained the final degree from a foreign college (graduate school). Check Portfolio Applicants in the arts department should apply only to the applicant and bring them on the day of interview. For application, all certificates shall be original copies. (The diploma of a foreign university graduate can be returned after confirming the original document on the day of receipt. For applicants who are mailed, the original document can be returned from the graduate school team. (Suwon campus) after the interview) A document not prepared in Korean or in English shall be notarized, and a translated copy in Korean or in English shall be attached. A submitted document may not be revised, and an application fee and a document will not be returned. A certificate of domestic college shall be in Korean, and a certificate of foreign college shall be in English. All documents shall be issued within 3 months and shall be submitted at once, and additional submission will not be accepted. If a student has attained a degree from Foreign, please refer to the [Foreinger Student Program] for submission An applicant under the joint program from the undergraduate study of Kyonggi University shall submit the Certificate of Completion of Joint Program with Undergraduate Study to receive recognition of 6 credits acquired. A North Korean defector shall submit a certificate of North Korean defector - 5 -

Master's degree applicants (university graduation certificate) Doctoral candidates (Graduate Certificate of Graduation) If you do not have an English certificate (One copy of the original and one notarized copy in English) A copy of "Diploma" or "Diploma" if you have obtained a diploma from China; ( or issued by An original degree certificate must be submitted. If it is not possible to issue the certificate, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Or consular affairs confirmation for the diploma issued by the Chinese embassy in Korea Can be replaced with. An applicant to master program (certificate of transcript from undergraduate study) An applicant to doctoral program (certificate of transcript to from master program) If there is no certificate in English, a copy translated into Korean and an original copy shall be notarized to be submitted. (One copy of the original and one notarized copy in English) One copy of Statement of Purpose [Form] A certificate of proficiency in Korean language [Certificate of completion of Korean Language Proficiency Test (TOPIK) level 4 or language education course] (Arts & Physical Education level 3) One copy of a certificate of family relationship and one copy of a passport Yet, if a student is from China, one copy of resident registration card and resident information of student and legal guardians, and all documents shall be notarized in English by the notarization office of China. A. If resident information for a student and legal guardians is in one form, one copy of translated and notarized resident information is required. B. If resident information for a student and legal guardians is not in one form, one copy of resident information from each in translated and notarized and one copy of a certificate of family relationship are required. One copy of alien registration issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Korea (front and back) (only a foreign student residing in Korea) Proof of financial ability 1 copy (submit documents within 1 month) Over US $20,000 of the applicant or financial guarantor Bank deposit balance certificate However, in the case of graduate (expected) of Kyonggi University US $10,000 or more bank deposit balance certificate One copy of agreement of Background Check and Academic Record Check [Form] If a foreign student graduated from Korea or is schedule to graduate in Korea: submit <certificate in Korean> A foreign applicant shall submit an application and submit other requirements in-person. (A deputy may visit and submit requirements for a student outside Korea.) All documents to be submitted shall be issued within 3 months, and original copies shall be submitted in principle. (However, bank deposit balance certificate only documents within 1 month) - 6 -
7 7. How to Write an Application A. How to apply on-line s Enter into the website of the Graduate School of Kyonggi University ( s Click the on-line application log in [ register with a name of applicant and log in] s Electronic payment: application fee [\80,000 KRW] s Bank: any bank with on-line transfer s Confirmation of application - Transcript: Percentile rated score on a transcript - Photo upload: scan a color photo and upload (3 cm * 4 cm) - Department to apply: may not change a department after application is submitted - Confirmation of alien registration number for a foreign student (if applicable) s How to pay: account transfer, wire transfer, credit card, mobile phone s Printout of application [after signing it and requirements, submit them via mail] A foreign applicant shall submit an application and submit requirements in-person (except for Saturday and Sunday). [A deputy may visit and submit requirements for a student outside Korea.] s Printout of test verification card (must carry it for interview) B. Precautions s Once an application is submitted, it may not be revised, and thus an application shall be checked and revised before submission. s An application submitted may not be cancelled or refunded, and thus a student shall be careful of it. s When a student mails it, a cover letter for mailing [A4] shall be printed out from the website and shall be attached on a document envelope. s Deadline for submission of requirements: Effective up to the postmark on (Fri) s Submit to: <Academic Affairs Team of Graduate School at Kyonggi University> (Ieui-dong) Gwanggyosan-ro Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do 8. Fellowship and Grant A. Government Officials and Private Schools Scholarship: National government officials and private school staff (only for civil servants and private pensioners) B. The same school scholarship: Those who have graduated from the undergraduate school and have entered the master's degree program (Scholarship can not be used twice) C. Research fellowship: a new full-time student for master or doctoral program recommended by an academic advisor D. Undergraduate study joint program scholarship: a new student for master program who has completed two or more courses (6 or more credits) of a master program from an undergraduate study (yet, a student with shortened years required for graduation is excluded). An applicant from a joint program from undergraduate study shall submit a Certificate of Completion of Joint Program with Undergraduate Study to receive recognition of 6 credits acquired. E. A foreigner fellowship: It is granted to a foreign abroad student, and a type and a rate of fellowship will be determined later on. F. Recommendation by the director of graduate school scholarship, The encouragement of research scholarship, scholarship for school children (master course), merit scholarship, National research scholarships, other external scholarships, etc. A type and details of the above fellowship follow the internal rules and policies of the Graduate School, and a student may not receive more than one fellowship
8 9. Registration and Resignation A. Printout of acceptance letter and tuition bill A student admitted shall printout an acceptance letter and a tuition bill via a banner of Announcement of Admitted at the bottom of the website to pay the full amount on the bill by the deadline of registration (no separate notice will be sent). B. Deadline for tuition: (Thu) (Fri) C. Tuition Year Entrance Fee Tuition(KRW) Liberal Art and Science Science/Physical Education Engineering/Arts ,000 4,729,000 5,338,000 5,970, Precautions A. If any of submitted documents contains false information or if a student enters into the School through any unfair way, acceptance will be cancelled, and a student is responsible for all consequences from insufficient preparation or absence of interview. B. An application and documents submitted may not be cancelled or revised, and they will not be returned. C. Due to the characteristics of each department, a course may be offered at Seoul or Suwon Campus. D. For announcement of acceptance, please check it via the website of the Graduate School ( E. An accepted student shall pay a tuition within a deadline, and if a student fails to do so, acceptance will be cancelled. F. A transferring student generally starts from the second or the third semester, and the School determines the beginning semester of student by evaluating the completion from previous graduate school. For transferring students, credits and semesters for each student may vary, and thus a student shall discuss it with a head professor before submitting an application. G. A result of evaluation for application will not be disclosed, and documents and application fee submitted will not be returned. H. A new student may not leave for absence in the first semester. Yet, a student leaving for absence due to military service or doctor s prescription (considering that a student may not attend a class for 4 weeks or more) will fall under exception. I.
