1 ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THREE RIVERS COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant to Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences OVERVIEW: This formal program articulation agreement is made and entered into by the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as MU and Three Rivers Community College, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as Three Rivers. By this agreement, MU and Three Rivers express a shared commitment to increasing opportunities for student access to and success in higher education. By clarifying transfer policies and procedures that assure articulation between programs, the institutions seek to assist students in making a seamless transfer of college-level coursework to the for the completion of the baccalaureate degree. PURPOSE: This agreement provides students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant degree the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences at MU. Any Three Rivers student who has earned an Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant is guaranteed that MU will accept designated freshman and sophomore credits and will apply such to a Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences in a manner consistent with the treatment of native students. Transfer guides will outline coursework at Three Rivers that will meet specific MU degree requirements. The transfer guides will be available to students, faculty, and advisors at Three Rivers. CONDITIONS OF TRANSFER: Section 1: Admissions and Matriculation Three Rivers students maintaining continuous enrollment under this agreement will be afforded the same treatment and protection as MU native students enrolled under a specific catalog. Criteria for admissions to the Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences will be based on the catalog year the student enters MU. Criteria for admission to MU as a transfer student includes a minimum 2.5 GPA, completion of a minimum of 24 college-level credits, and completion of College Algebra or a course equivalent to MU s English 1000 with a C- or better. Students who do not satisfy any or all of these criteria may be asked to submit high school transcripts and standardized test scores. Admission to the
2 university does not guarantee admission into a particular academic department or degree program. Criteria for acceptance into an MU degree program will be consistent with criteria applied to native MU students. Three Rivers, upon student request will provide verification of completed courses to the MU Office of Admissions. The MU Office of Admissions will evaluate the transcripts of students transferring from Three Rivers. Transfer students from Three Rivers will have access to financial aid and student services on the same basis as native students. Minimum grade standards for academic progress and graduation from Three Rivers will be subject to no further review by MU. Similarly, minimum grade standards for admission, academic progress, and graduation from School of Health Professions at MU will not be subject to review by Three Rivers. MU will apply the same academic progress and graduation standards to Three Rivers transfer students as those applicable to native students at MU. Section II: Transfer of Credit While there is no maximum number of credit hours that can be transferred by a student from Three Rivers to MU, 30 of the last 36 hours of credit must be completed with MU authored courses. All college-level credit hours will be accepted by MU from Three Rivers to be applied to the Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences according to degree requirements. Transfer students from Three Rivers who have completed the Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant, upon acceptance to the Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences program at MU, will have junior standing at MU. Section III: Program Plan/Transfer Guide Transfer guides will be developed and periodically updated cooperatively between MU and Three Rivers. Each transfer guide will specify the MU degree course requirements and equivalent Three Rivers courses. All transfer guides will be considered addendums to this agreement and are subject to revision. For a given catalog year, the most recent transfer addendum will take precedence over all previous transfer addendums.
3 TERMS OF AGREEMENT: This agreement is made and entered into in the academic year and remains in force unless changed in writing by mutual agreement of both parties. This agreement may be amended at any time with approval of both parties and is subject to regular review to assure currency with the respective degree requirements. Should either party desire to discontinue this agreement, advance notification of two years will be required. SIGNATURES: The Three Rivers Community College of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and the enter into this program articulation agreement leading from the Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant to the Bachelor of Health Science in Health Sciences degree by the affixing of signatures of the chief executive officers of both institutions.
