Governance is a key area for lawyers in large and small firms, as well as for many public companies, government departments, large charities and nongovernment entities (NGOs). Internationally there is a strong need for technical knowledge and understanding of legal governance by Chinese lawyers, Indian/Bangladeshi lawyers and Vietnamese lawyers (in addition to the English speaking common law jurisdictions of New Zealand, Canada/USA, Malaysia/Singapore and UK), who are not used to working in a common law legal system versus their own civil code or mixed system. 6 Jason Donnelly COURSE CONVENOR GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN AUSTRALIAN MIGRATION LAW Jason Donnelly has significant teaching and practical experience in the law. Jason was appointed a lecturer at Western Sydney University in 2009, and, since that time, has lectured and taught in various areas of Australian law. Jason is also a practising barrister, and was called to the New South Wales Bar in 2011 at the age of 25. Jason is also a Registered Migration Agent ( ) and an Adjunct Lecturer at the New South Wales College of Law. Jason has previously worked as a Tipstaff to the Hon. Justice Peter McClellan AM QC (Chief Judge at Common Law) (as his Honour then was) and researcher to the Hon. Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG (former Justice of the High Court of Australia). Jason's areas of research include a strong focus on Australian immigration and refugee law.
