PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING SCIENCE- 1 POST- AC/7/157/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be holders of a PhD in Architecture or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from a recognized University with specialization in at least one of the following areas: Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architectural Design, Urban Design, Building Technology, Housing, Urban Planning, They must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).a minimum of ten (10) year s teaching experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, three (3) years which must be at Associate Professor Level and supervised a minimum of eight (8) postgraduate students to completion, at least three (3) at doctoral level and five (5) Masters level, a minimum of sixty (60) equivalent publication points since attaining Associate Professorship or equivalent, of which at least forty (40) should be from refereed scholarly journals. Successful applicant will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. They will also be expected to supervise and undertake research in their areas of specialization. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING SCIENCE- 3 POSTS- AC/7/158/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be holders of a professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or MA Planning, and they must have a PhD in Architecture or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from a recognized University with specialization in at least one of the following areas: Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architectural Design, Urban Design, Building Technology, Housing, Architectural Conservation and Urban Planning. They must be registered with the relevant professional body, a minimum of eight (8) years teaching experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, three (3) years of which must be at Senior Lecturer level, supervised a minimum of five postgraduate students to completion, at least two (2) at doctoral level and three (3) Master students, a minimum of forty eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least thirty two (32) should be from refereed journals Successful applicants will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. They will also be expected to supervise and undertake research in their thematic areas. SENIOR LECTURER/SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING SCIENCE- 5 POSTS- AC/7/159/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be holders of a professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch.), or MA Planning, or Master of Arts (Fine Art), and also they must have, a PhD in Architecture or equivalent degree qualification, OR a Master s degree qualification in the relevant field from a recognized University with specialization in at least one of the following areas: Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architecture Design, Urban Design, Building Technology, Housing, Architectural Conservation and Fine Art/Interior Design Architecture. They must be registered with the relevant professional body where 1

2 applicable, minimum five (5) years teaching experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate level or six (6) years research/industry experience, a minimum of thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty four (24) should be from refereed journals. Successful applicants will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. They will also be expected to supervise and undertake research in their thematic areas. SENIOR LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL COMMUNICATION& TECHNOLOGY- 1 POST AC/6/160/18 (R&T) Applicants must be holders of an earned PhD degree (or a Masters degree in special cases) in Educational Communication and Technology specializing in the areas of Educational Media, Business Education or Physical Education from a recognized and accredited university. They should have at least three (3) years teaching experience as a Lecturer at both undergraduate and post graduate degree levels and must have supervised at least three (3) postgraduate Students to completion. They must have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. In addition, they should have at least thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer of which twenty four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals. They must have attracted research or development funds as a Lecturer and registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable). The successful candidates will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake research in their areas of specialization LECTURER/RESEARCH FELLOW DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND BUILDING SCIENCE- 4 POSTS- AC/7/161/18- ( R&T) Applicants must be holders of professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch.). In addition, they must have a PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from a recognized University OR; a Masters degree in the relevant field from a recognized University with at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level or research or in industry with specialization in at least one of the following areas:- Environmental Design in Architecture, History and Theory of Architecture, Architectural Design, Urban Design and Building Technology. They must be Registered or registrable with the relevant professional body and a minimum of twenty four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers. Successful applicants will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. They will also be expected to supervise and undertake research in their areas of specialization. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF MECHANCAL & MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING -1 POST-AC/7/162/18- (CAE) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in thematic area of Thermofluids from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. They should be registered or registrable with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK). 2

3 The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF GEOSPATIAL & SPACE TECHNOLOGY -1 POST- AC/7/163/18- (CAE) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Geospatial Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. They should be registered or registrable with ISK. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF URBAN & REGIONAL PLANNING -1 POST- AC/7/164/18- (CAE) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Urban& Regional, Urban Planning or regional Planning from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. They should be registered or registrable with Physical Planners registration Board (PPRB) and be a member of a recognized planning professional body. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL COMMUNICATION& TECHNOLOGY- 1 POST AC/7/165/18 (CEES) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree specializing in Chemistry Education, Educational Media, Agriculture Education and Early Childhood Education in from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in the relevant area of specialization and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. They should have research experience, with at least 24 publications points of which 16 should be from refereed journals. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. They must have undertaken Bachelor of Education with specific subject specializing and subject method in the same area at masters level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Departmental activities. 3

4 SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT GRADE EF, DEPARTMENT OF OPHTHALMOLOGY- 1 POST AD/7/166/18- (CHS) Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor s (at least lower 2 nd class Hons.) degree from a recognized university and CPS II or relevant professional or postgraduate qualification in management. They should also have at least three (3) years experience as Administrative Assistant Grade CD or equivalent position. They must be Computer literate SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE DEF, DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN PATHOLOGY, CLINICAL CHEMISTRY THEMATIC AREA- 1 POST -AD/7/167/17- (CHS) Applicants must be holders of a BSc. Degree or Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology in Clinical Chemistry or equivalent plus five (5) years experience at the level of Technologist Grade ABC or equivalent in a busy teaching/ research laboratory. Thy must be conversant with Quality Management in Laboratory Medicine. Those who are computer literate, have knowledge of new Clinical Chemistry and related technologies will have an added advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the preparation and teaching of practical work for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. SENIOR SECRETARY GRADE D IN THE FOLLOWING UNITS:- 1. LIBRARY & INFORMATION STUDIES -AD/7/168/18-1 POST -(R&T) 2. DEAN S OFFICE, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE -AD/7/169/18-1 POST -(CAVS) 3. DIRECTOR S OFFICE, CIPL- 1 POST- AD/7/170/18- ( R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English III - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III - Typewriting 50 wpm They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Assistant Senior Secretary Grade C or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools. ASSISTANT SENIOR SECRETARY GRADE C, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY- 1 POST- AD/7/171/18- ( CBPS) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- 4

5 - Business English III - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand III (minimum 120 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III - Typewriting 50 wpm They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Secretary Grade B or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools. SECRETARY GRADE B, DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY - AD/7/172/18-1 POST -(CHS ) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE C or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:- - Business English III - Commerce II - Secretarial Duties II - Office Management III - Shorthand III (minimum 100 wpm) or Audio-Typewriting III - Typewriting 50 wpm They should have certificates in and be able to use Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Data Base Management packages and at least three (3) years experience as Assistant Secretary Grade A or a comparable position of responsibility for this grade. They should have knowledge of Anti-virus Tools. TECHNOLOGIST, GRADE ABC, DEPARTMENT OF VET. PATHOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY& PARASITOLOGY- 1 POST -AD/7/173/18 - (CAVS). Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE Mean Grade C with credits in relevant science subjects and an Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Applied Biology plus 3 years relevant experience in Grade III/IV or a Diploma in Industrial & Applied Biology and have worked for at least 6 years in Grade III/IV in Postmortem Room, Incineration unit, Parasitology and Small & Large animal Unit will also be considered. Those with experience in two of the following: - Virology, Bacteriology, Parasitology, Histology, Washing Room, Biochemistry, Media Room and proven innovation ideas will have an added advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to organize practicals and also carry out routine analysis and maintain lab equipment. NOTE: 1.
