2 FELICIAN UNIVERSITY APPLICATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION Admission to Felician University is as personalized as your education. We recognize that selecting a college is one of the most important decisions you will make and our staff is here to help you every step of the way. TO APPLY YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING: Application for Admission (please type or print neatly and complete accurately and thoroughly) Official high school transcript(s) or GED Official college transcript(s) (transfer applicants only) SAT I or ACT scores (not required if you have graduated from high school one or more years before the semester you intend to enroll). SAT/ACT are not required from international applicants who completed their high school outside the U.S. $30 non-refundable application fee (check or money order made payable to Felician University) Personal statement required for nursing students only Two letters of recommendation (optional) WHEN TO APPLY Felician University offers rolling admission for all majors except nursing. This means we will accept applications on an ongoing basis throughout the year. However, we recommend submitting your application as follows: Early Decision November 15 First-year Early Action December 15 Nursing February 15 Rolling Admission May 1 DECISION NOTIFICATION You should receive an admission decision within about four weeks after we have received and reviewed your completed application. FRESHMAN APPLICANTS It is recommended that freshman applicants have completed 16 high school units in the following academic subjects: English Mathematics Science Social Studies Electives TRANSFER APPLICANTS 4 units 2 3 units 2 3 units 2 3 units 3 6 units (in foreign language or other academic subjects) Whether you ve taken a few classes or have earned your associate degree at a community college, Felician is a great place to finish your bachelor s degree. Transfer up to 90 credits. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.0 for all non-nursing majors. Most courses will transfer with a grade of C or better. Students applying to the Nursing program must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. A grade of B- or better is required for the following pre-requisite courses: English Composition I and II Anatomy and Physiology I and II Statistics High school or college Chemistry INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS If you are an international student whose native language is not English, you must submit the results of a test of English proficiency and meet our minimum requirements: TOEFL IBT 61 TOEFL Paper Based 500 IELTS 5.5 SAT Critical Reading 400 Completing Level 4 of our English as a Second Language (ESL) Program ELS Level 112 Completion Certificate Conditional Admission: If you cannot meet our minimum English language requirement, you have the option of applying for conditional admission and attending our English as a Second Language (ESL) Program. We also encourage you to visit felician.edu/oip. SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID Felician is ranked as the 3rd most affordable private university in New Jersey and we are generous with scholarships! Our admission scholarships are based on academic achievement and are automatically awarded to qualified students. We encourage you to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for additional need-based financial aid. Filing the FAFSA is very important because, in addition to possibly qualifying you for additional need-based grant funds, the FAFSA is the only way to qualify for low-interest federal student loans. File the FAFSA in October for the followiing fall semester or in November for the following spring semester. Apply online at fafsa.ed.gov.
