1 PTPTN LOAN GUIDELINES BEFORE APPLICATION Purchase PIN number from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) (RM5) Open a Savings Account at CIMB Bank Open a SSPN account at PTPTN One Stop Centre or at Maybank ONLINE APPLICATION Go to PTPTN website gateway Fill in and complete the online application form Click "YA" once all the details have been filled and completed AFTER ONLINE Print out the online application summary (click "Cetak Maklumat") Waiting for online pre-approval (7 working days after the closing date of the online application) AFTER PRE APPROVAL Download the Agreement from PTPTN website and print out two sets Read all the terms and conditions, sign and paste the duty stamps of RM10 on each set of the agreements HARDCOPIES SUBMISSION Submit two sets of completed agreements together with supporting documents to Student Services within 2 week from the approval date University representative will submit the completed documents to PTPTN office for loan APPROVAL PTPTN PAYMENT Estimated time to get the first payment upon PTPTN pre- approval is around two months (Students to check their CIMB account ) What you should know before applying for PTPTN loan?? Programme duration must be more than 1 year Degree Level 3 students are not eligible to apply during Level 3 Registered and started the intake Loan is not provided for Foundation Programme Loan is only available for FULL TIME programme Total amount of PTPTN loan which student will receive depends on remaining years of study. Students are not allowed to change their course once PTPTN loan is approved. PTPTN loan exemption will only be applicable for students who have received First Class Degree with CGPA 3.7 and above. Any upgraded First Class (CGPA below 3.7) will not be considered for the exemption. Students who are in the process of applying for PTPTN loan shall be registered under the semester or monthly installment fee payment scheme and are required to pay the initial fees Students must continue paying their monthly installment dues as usual until PTPTN application is approved Once your loan amount is received: i. You will have to immediately within 1 week from the date the amount is banked into your account to transfer the full amount received to APU/APIIT. ii. After the 2nd payment for the academic year is received, we will convert the amount received into full payment and refund the balance if paid within 1 week from the date the amount is banked into your account. Students who do not transfer the amount to the university within 1 week of receiving it, their payment mode will follow the installment scheme and late charges will be imposed. 1

2 Estimated time to get the first payment upon PTPTN pre-approval is around 2 months PTPTN will only disburse the payment for students who have obtained minimum GPA 2.00 and above for every semester Student who failed to get the GPA 2.00 will not receive the PTPTN loan and will have to make their own arrangement of paying the course fees Please do not hesitate to come and see the person in charge for PTPTN (Mr Hafiz and Ms Hasnita) at Student Services. (RM household income) 50% of Max Limit for applicants whose family income is more than RM8,000 per month. 9 IMPORTANT CHECKLIST BEFORE STUDENT CAN APPLY ONLINE PTPTN PIN number from Bank Simpanan Nasional CIMB Saving Account No Student address Parent particular ( full name, IC number, EPF number, Income Tax number, income per month gross & net pay after deduction must be the same as in the salary slip) SPM / STPM / UEC / A Level / Foundation (CGPA) / Diploma result (CGPA) Course Info Diploma or Degree (kindly refer as above) Intake date must be same with the offer letter Matriks No : Student ID No. eg TP AGGREMENTS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (HARD COPIES) AFTER GETTING ONLINE PRE-APPROVAL 1) 2 duty stamps (RM10 each for both loan agreements ) 2) Complete the agreements 2 set (sign and write date on the required fields-use black ball pen for both). 3) Date must be same for both agreements. 4) For the WITNESS PERJANJIAN, you must get a signature from professional field such as PRINCIPAL (SECONDARY SCHOOL ) AND HEAD MASTER (PRIMARY SCHOOL ) 5) Student s IC copy (front and back in one page) 6) Offer Letter which will be prepared by APU PTPTN staff 7) SPM certificate SPM slip can be use if not more than 2 years 8) STPM / UEC / A LEVEL / Foundation / Diploma Certificate & Transcripts (need completion letter if no certificate attached) 9) CIMB Account book / statement copy/ bank slip when opening CIMB account 10) Salary slip (latest) / Income Tax Form (latest)/ Kad Pesara or Borang Pengesahan Pendapatan (parent with no proof of income and if not working) 11) Death certificate or Letter from High Court if parent is missing in action 12) Copy of semester result (if application is made during 2 nd semester of studies) IMPORTANT: All supporting document must be in A4 size paper. 9
