(Hons.) Course of Studies in Bengal Law College (BITM Campus), Gopalnagar, Sriniketan Bypass, Doranda, Birbhum and AMEX Law College,, Burdwan, affiliated to the University of Burdwan, will be available on and from to only on the university website (http/ not in the affiliated Law College/ Institute. Eligibility: For admission to 5- Year B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Course, every candidate shall have to pass the Higher Secondary Examination under (10 + 2) pattern or its equivalent examination securing not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants. Age Limit: No age limit but the entire process including admission to the course shall abide by the decision of the Hon ble Supreme Court against WP(Civil) No /2016 pending before it. Submission of Application Forms: Duly filled in downloaded application form, accompanied by a DD of Rs. 250/- ( ie. cost of application form) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, B.U., payable at SBI, B.U. Branch, Burdwan, along with the attested photo copies of Admit Card ( MP or its equivalent exam. ), Mark Sheets of all the Public Examinations passed and SC/ ST /OBC Certificate ( for relaxation in marks and/ or age only ), shall be submitted, either personally or by authorized representative, to the Office of the Secretary, Council for U.G. Studies in Arts, Sc., Comm. etc., B.U., Rajbati, Burdwan on or before (except Saturday, Sunday & holidays). Last date of submission of application forms : ( upto 3 pm ). (Honours) Course of Studies is taught, on self- financed basis, only in Bengal Law College, Gopalnagar, Sriniketan Bypass, Doranda, Birbhum ( / , ) and AMEX Law College (Ph , ), Burdwan, affiliated to the University of Burdwan. A Candidate concerned, while prosecuting a regular course of study in Law under this University, shall neither take up nor shall be permitted to take up any other course simultaneously. Candidates must verify eligibility before collecting the application forms. No. of Seats: 80 in each college. Course Fee : Rs /- per annum. Availability of Application Forms: Application forms for admission to 5-Year B.A. LL.B. Hons. Course of Studies will be available, only on the university website ( http/ not in any affiliated Law College/ Institute on and from to Form no. will be allotted by the office of the undersigned at the time of submission of form. Candidates, who are seeking relaxation in marks and age under SC/ ST category, must enclose attested photo copy of the Certificate from the competent authority to authenticate their claim. Relevant certificate must conform to THE W.B. GOVT. MEMO NO BCW / MR-94/11 dated Kolkata, 20th June, The certificate must be from one of the authorities listed below: i) Deputy Director, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal and Commissioner, Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe residing in any part of West Bengal.

3 ii) Deputy Commissioner of Land Revenue, Kolkata Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata, Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Addl. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Kolkata, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Collector, Addl. District Magistrate, Collector and District Magistrate with their respective jurisdictions in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Cast or Scheduled Tribe and ordinary residing within such jurisdictions. Mode of Selection for Admission: Selection for admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit to be determined by the percentage of marks at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination under pattern. In case of tie, marks of English at the Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination, under pattern, will be compared. Marks of English at the Madhyamik Pariksha or its equivalent examination will be considered as the third criterion, if needed. Publication of List : Notification of publication of Provisional Rank List will be available only on the University Website ( http/ on and admission will be held on & in the respective colleges. Class Attendance: If a student concerned fails to attend the minimum of 70% of the total lectures delivered in a semester, he/ she shall not be allowed to appear in that examination, Provided that if a student of semester-i fails to attend the requisite minimum number of lectures delivered as mentioned, shall not get readmission and he/ she shall have to take admission afresh, Provided that from the second semester onward, if a candidate is declared discollegiate due to shortage of required no. of attendance, he/ she may be allowed to take readmission in that semester on the recommendation of the appropriate authority.
