Managed public relations for Off Campus Student Services, including Twitter account, and Facebook page, print media and web editing, and additional university promotion. Presented at all VCU new-student events such as Orientation, Open House, Move-In, and Welcome Week. Outreach representative of the VCU Neighborhood Team, a Town/Gown committee to address noise, alcohol abuse, and trash issues off campus. Provided crisis resources for students experiencing violence, property loss, landlord conflict, and other issues that adversely impacted their student life off campus. Advised and developed programming for parents and students about safety, budgets, and healthy choices. Executed campus wide annual programs, The Off Campus Living Fair, and The Great Bike Round-Up. Provided workshops during these fairs to emphasize informed decision making and safety practices for students. Promoted alternative transportation including knowledge of public transit, VCU Parking and Transportation, carpooling, and health benefits of cycling and walking. VCU committees included: o Welcome Week, Asian/Hispanic Initiative Community Committee, Healthy Campus, The Neighborhood Team for Town-Gown Relations, Sustainability Bicycle Sub-Committee, CAS standards investigation team, and the 2012 Pre-Health Advisory Committee. Related Community Engagement & Professional Experience Martha s Darkroom Inc Owner/Operator, Formed business plan and opened custom photo lab for professional and amateur film enthusiasts. Custom color and black & white printing done in collaboration with clients for museum quality pieces. Managed auxiliary rental lab and provided instruction for color and black & white, film, and print developing, as well as supervising VCU School of Arts, Photography student interns. Problem solved to keep multiple lab services running smoothly in two historic buildings while under constant deadlines requiring excellent organization skills. TMI specializes in Diversity Training, Leadership, and Community Engagement.
