I designed and lead taught the curriculum for the African American Male Honors Program. I developed and led the district s only spoken word poetry elective course daily. Trained in SIOP teaching and learning strategies to support English language learners John Marshall Community School, IPS, Indianapolis, IN 7 th Grade Language Arts Teacher: I instructed 130 special education and general education students in language arts curriculum. I also developed and facilitated a weekly girls empowerment and character development after school program for 30 adolescent girls. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Present Ball State University, Educational Studies Department, Muncie, IN Co-Investigator, I collaborate with a team of qualitative researchers to conduct a narrative research study of the Center for Leadership Development as a location of hope for African American youth that achieves a counter-narrative of urban youth college access.
