2 Alaska Native Program Alyeska Alliance Section 29 Scholarship Application The NANA WorleyParsons Scholarship Program has been organized under Section 29 of the Grant of Right of Way Agreement Lease for the operation of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. The goal of the Scholarship Program is to provide financial aid to Alaska Native students, which will assist them in achieving their college educational goals and prepare them for jobs on the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS). Number of Awards: The number and amount of scholarships/grants awarded each year is dependent upon: The number of eligible applicants The quality of applications The availability of funds Applicants Must Meet the Following Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be of Alaska Native heritage and be able to provide acceptable documentation (see the checklist for specific documentation accepted). Award Criteria: Drafting & Design - Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Be enrolled in a drafting certification program or enrolled in an associated technical degree program. Engineering Must be a College Junior or senior enrolled in a engineering degree program and hold a 2.5 or higher GPA. Business/Finance Must be at least a College Junior or senior enrolled in a business degree program and hold a 2.5 or higher GPA. Internships - Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Be enrolled in a drafting certification program or enrolled in an associated technical degree program or enrolled in an engineering degree program. Be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college or university, which will prepare candidates for a position on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline or AutoCAD/Drafting or related field. Be a full-time (12 credit hours or the number of credits the school requires for full-time status) student during the entire academic year to be eligible for the total scholarship amount offered. Scholarships are available for part time students and awards are pro-rated to the number of hours less than full time. The primary emphasis of NANA WorleyParsons Scholarship Program is to provide educational assistance and Internships to Alaska Native Students pursuing degrees in the Engineering, Design and Drafting fields which correspond to the services that NANA WorleyParsons provides Alyeska under contract. While applicants in other educational fields will be considered, preference is made towards the Engineering fields. All scholarships are awarded on an semester/term basis. Be enrolled as an undergraduate student pursuing a drafting certificate program or four year degree at an accredited institution and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA during the scholarship year. All scholarship award payments are issued in the college s name and sent to the financial aid office address stated on the awardee s application. How to Apply: If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, you must meet the above eligibility requirements and complete the attached application. Completed application. Incomplete applications will be returned. (NO EXCEPTIONS) Official College/University transcripts only if you are applying for the Alaska Native Program Scholarship for the first time and you are currently attending a University or college. Copy of Official high school diploma or equivalent (GED) Copy of Official High School Transcripts Copy of Official Letter of acceptance from your Drafting Program or college or university Letter of Intent - This letter must briefly detail the student s goals and objectives, expected graduation date, and how their selected academic career will link directly to a position on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. This letter must accompany the application. There are no exceptions. This organization has been selected to distribute funding for training and educational opportunities strategically focused in Trans Alaska Pipeline System and oil industry professions. Through this Awarded Organization, it has been determined that you are eligible to receive APSC funding. The Awarded Organization will administer the program funding and monitor your progress during the period in which the scholarship or internship funds are received. This release form will enable the Awarded Organization to provide information to APSC regarding your progress or other information as requested, such as a current resume with contact information that may be used for purposes of employment or other recruitment efforts. A condition of receipt of APSC funding requires that you complete this Student Information Release and Attestation Form and submit it along with a current resume, and any other requested documentation, to the Awarded Organization named above. STUDENT ATTESTATION I, Student Name: consent that the Awarded Organization named above may release information to APSC regarding my progress as a student, now and beyond the period of my scholarship award. This information may include, but is not limited to: official grade transcripts, degree/certification program curriculum and completion dates, personal statements of career goals, and resume. I understand that if my cumulative GPA falls below 2.5, I will no longer be eligible for APSC program funding. I understand that I can only receive a maximum of $7,500 of APSC program funding per academic year, which may include scholarship or internship funding received from multiple organizations distributing APSC funds, including the Awarded Organization named above. I understand that release of this information and attestation is a condition for receipt of scholarship or internship funds. I acknowledge that failure to abide by these requirements will jeopardize potential future APSC funding.
