1 Pearson Foundation Scholarship Application: 1. General information 1.1 Submission dates The deadlines for submission of applications must be strictly adhered to. Applications must be submitted to the relevant campus for review and recommendations. The campus Pearson Scholarship Committee will forward the application to the national Pearson Scholarship Committee for final approval. Application form to be submitted to the campus by (Insert date here). No late applications will be considered. 1.2 Qualifying candidates Applications for bursaries are considered only from South African citizens who intend to study full time towards qualifications on offer at any of the Pearson Institute/CTI campuses. The applicant must meet the minimum entrance requirements for the specific qualification he or she wishes to study and have obtained a senior certificate or equivalent school leaving certificate, accompanied by a SAQA certificate of equivalence and/or USAF exemption certificate. The application is only for new students who have not previously studied at Pearson Institute or CTI. Students must have a Pearson Student Number to apply for a scholarship (which will be received on successful application to PIHE/CTI). 1.3 Submitting your Pearson Scholarship application form Scholarships are awarded on a year-to-year basis and an application has to be submitted every year. 1.4 Process Application forms with incomplete information will be disqualified. No faxed application forms will be accepted. Read carefully before completing, signing or submitting this form and ensure that this form is completed in full. 2 Please note: This Pearson Scholarship cannot be used to pay for existing loans or debts. 1.5 Requirements Attach all of the following documents: Certified copy of a valid senior certificate or equivalent (if you have completed Grade 12). Certified copy of the latest academic transcript or record on official letterhead or logo. Certified copy of a valid South African identity document. Latest payslip of sponsor. Submit completed forms (or hand deliver) to your respective campus. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. 1.6 Criteria: The awards will be made at the sole discretion of Pearson, based on the following criteria: The candidate must have a Grade 12 school leaving certificate with a diploma or Higher Certificate pass Candidates need to have met the admission requirements for the qualification they wish to study. Application rankings will be determined by the average percentage of the rating score obtained on the Grade 12 certificate( or equivalent school leaving certificate) Attending a panel interview may be required. Sponsors must be able to prove a combined income of R9000 R25000 per month.
