2 TRAIN The Automotive Technology program at Oklahoma Technical College prepares you to excel in the automotive industry. You will have the opportunity to learn not only classroom theory but also practical, real-world skills! Get your hands dirty with these hands-on learning sessions in our fully functioning automotive shop. Graduates are prepared to obtain their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in all eight performance areas. DEVELOP Students in the Automotive Technology program acquire the skills necessary to land the job they want as an automotive mechanic, repair specialist, dealership technician, electrical technician and more. CAREER Graduates of the Automotive Technology program are prepared to begin a career as a certified automotive technician who can diagnose problems and perform the proper service procedures to maintain high customer service satisfaction. DEVELOP Students in the Diesel Technology program acquire the skills and understanding of electronic circuits, cooling systems, truck brake systems, steering and drive trains, hydraulics, trailer service and inspection, converters and alignment. CAREER Graduates are prepared to begin a career in dealerships, service stations, private repair shops, medium/heavy equipment repair shops, companies with fleets and more. Our top-notch instructors give you a complete understanding of all 5 types of welding through classroom theory and hands-on application in our very own weld shop. DEVELOP Students in the Welding Technology program benefit from monthly field trips to local manufacturing facilities, non-profit organizations, and attending safety seminars. Oklahoma Technical College welding students also become members of the American Welding Society s (AWS) Student Chapter. 8 TRAIN The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at Oklahoma Technical College prepares you to excel in the HVAC/R industry. You will learn through classroom lectures and theory and receive hands-on training in our on-site HVAC/R shop, designed to simulate real-world environments. DEVELOP Students in the HVAC/R program will learn a variety of topics including an understanding of heat and energy theory, mastering tools of the HVAC/R industry and safety precautions, basic electricity and magnetism, application or refrigeration systems, as well as how to operate and troubleshoot industry equipment. CAREER Graduates are prepared to begin a career as a heating, refrigeration or controls contractor, with commercial refrigeration facilities, property management firms, wholesale vendors, schools, hospitals and more. FUTURE According to the US Department of Labor, employment of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to grow 21% from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
