Institutional Area (Opp. JNU (East Gate) New Delhi Tel: , , Fax: Professor (RBI Chair) [One post - Rs with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10000] NIPFP is appointing a senior level Professor to the Reserve Bank of India Chair. Previous Chairs include: Prof. Sudipto Mundle (Member, 14 th Finance Commission), Prof. Indira Rajaraman (Member, 13 th Finance Commission), Prof. Chandan Mukherjee (Ex-Director, CDS, Thiruvananthapuram), Dr. Poonam Gupta (now with the Chief Economists Office, World Bank) and Dr. Ila Patnaik (now as Principal Adviser to the Ministry of Finance). This is a very senior position providing a unique opportunity to work with stakeholders in Government and the international policy community, and in close collaboration with the RBI, Ministry of Finance and the State Government at the highest policy making level. The RBI Professor will be part of a vibrant policy community with resources to produce and disseminate policy research in India, and globally. We are looking for a person with an impeccable academic and policy record and the desire to guide and augment policy oriented research in areas relevant to the Institute s vision, mandate and policy programme. We expect the Professor to be 45 years of age but this is relaxable for younger dynamic economist, if deemed appropriate by the Selection Committee. A Ph.D in Economics, excellent publications, 10 years of teaching and research experience are essential.

(i) A creditable academic record with Ph.D in Economics and specialization in the relevant area (ii) Publications of high standard and (iii) At least 10 years research or teaching experience in a University or Govt. or a reputed research Institution. Desirable: Experience in empirical analysis of industrial and/or fiscal policy issues and policy modeling. 2. Professor (Rs with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10000) Age: Preferably 45 years (relaxable by Selection Committee in deserving cases). (iv) A creditable academic record with Ph.D in Economics and specialization in the relevant area (v) Publications of high standard and (vi) At least 10 years research or teaching experience in a University or Govt. or a reputed research Institution. Desirable: Experience in empirical analysis of industrial and/or fiscal policy issues and policy modeling.

Associate Professor (Rs with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9000) Age: preferably 40 years (relaxable by Selection Committee in deserving cases) Qualifications Essential (i) A creditable academic record with Ph.D in Economics and specialization in relevant areas with a good background in quantitative economics (ii) Publications in Standard Journals and (iii) 8 years experience in research or teaching Desirable- Experience in empirical analysis of industrial and/or fiscal policy issues. 4. Assistant Professor (Rs with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.7000) Age: preferably 35 years Qualifications Essential (i) Post Graduate in Economics with specialization in the relevant areas (ii) Ph.D. degree obtained on the basis of dissertation in the relevant area, (iii) knowledge of quantitative techniques, and (iv) publications of good standard 5. Economist (Rs with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.6000) Age: preferably 30 years (i) High second class post Graduate degree in Economics, (ii) Specialisation in Public Finance and knowledge of quantitative techniques Desirable: 2-3 years research or teaching experience ALKA MATTA SECRETARY
