Consequently, practical training forms an important part of the academic curriculum at Lloyd Law College. Lloyd Law College recognizes the significance of internships and placements in shaping the professional lives of law students. It strives to make available internships with NGOs, PSUs, LPOs, lawyers, firms, companies, etc. so that the students can determine the area/specialization they wish to pursue after obtaining their law degree. It seeks to enable the students to gain firsthand experience of how the legal provisions operate in practice and to educate students about multiple career opportunities.

2 The internships are also an opportunity provided to the students to demonstrate their calibre so that they may be offered recruitment at the place they interned at. Lloyd Law College recognizes that recruitment is a process that involves engaging recruiters, building long-lasting relations and bringing together prospective recruiters and students to a platform where they can negotiate. For the purpose of providing placements several firms, companies, LPO s visit Lloyd Law College every year to hold interviews for recruiting deserving students. A large number of the students have been placed in very reputed law firms, corporate houses, LPOs & NGOs etc. as the training and the placement are the thrust areas of the college. From this year the College has initiated a Career Guidance Scheme for the IVth and Vth Year students which are compulsory for every student through which the students shall be interned and trained as per the requirement of employability. MANAGER PLACEMENT POLICY Student Placement Training Program LLC has a unique and innovative curriculum in which Practical Training occupies an important place. Practice training attempts to expose the students to different aspects of legal work in lawyer s chambers, courts, administrative offices, quasi-judicial establishments, prosecution departments, police and correctional institutions, commercial corporate establishments, government law offices, legal aid centres, legislative secretariats etc.

7 Procedure for Placement Training On or before October 30 and March 15 each year, the students are to submit an application, in the form prescribed for Placement during winters and summers, to the Placement Officer. He/she will correspond with Advocates, Law Officers, companies and other establishments of law to get their willingness to accept the candidates on placement. On receipt of their willingness, the candidates concerned will be informed to prepare for undertaking the assignment. During the first and second years the placement is optional and will be with NGOs. During the third year placement with trial lawyers, during the fourth year with appellate lawyers and during the final year with Law Firms, LPOs, Corporate Houses, Banks, Insurance and Media Houses. INTERNSHIPS Lloyd Law College focuses on classroom teaching as well as practical exposure which is must for the students of law. Lloyd Law College has formulated a comprehensive scheme of internship training for different classes. First year students are required to join NGOs for a period of four to six weeks. Second year students undergo training at NGOs or lawyers at District Level. Third to fifth year students are given a free hand to go in for training with corporate houses, leading law firms, departments of State and Central Government and chambers of senior lawyers. The final year students can also go for Judicial Clerkship. The Internship Committee is the link between the students of Lloyd Law College and the legal fraternity. Every year, the committee forwards CVs of students from all batches to various law firms and other organisations for the purpose of internship. The committee ensures the concern of the students by providing them with internships in their respective fields of interest.
