Invitation Dear Members, It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 65th Annual Conference of Association of Occupational Health Karnataka (AOHK). The Theme of this year's conference is : Basic Occupational Health Services In Rural Areas. Occupational health is concerned with protecting the safety, health and welfare of all working people. Occupational health aims at promotion and maintenance of highest degree of physical, mental & social well being of workers in all occupation. OHS professional use their skill in understanding and using safety, health and environmental science information for improvement of procedures. AOHK 2015 aims to serve as a platform for those who want to learn or share the new paradigms emerging in Environment & Occupational Industry, one of the most challenging and ever-dynamic areas in modren Healthcare. ABOUT AOHK : The Indian Association of Occupational Health was established in the year 1948 in the steel city of Jamshedpur. The Karnataka Branch now known as Association of Occupational Health Karnataka (AOHK) was started in AOHK is the second largest branch in the country and is steadily growing in strength with a membership of close to 350 professionals. AOHK has numerous activities which include conducting lectures, seminars and conferences as also studies in the field of Occupational Health and Industrial Medicine. AOHK has successfully conducted Annual National Conferences of the Indian Association of Occupational Health. The important awards given during the State Conference include the Golden Jubilee Oration Award, the Silver Jubilee Oration Award and the Awards for the best Scientific Papers for industrial doctors, Post Graduate Students and also for associate members. The Eros Pharma award now known as Manjunatha Nayak Memorial Award is given to the best paper written by a medical undergraduate student on an Occupational Health topic every year. AOHK Award which is instituted this year is given to best scientific paper by a post graduate student on an occupational health topic every year. Org. Ravichandran AOHK INVITES SCIENTIFIC PAPERS ON OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH FOR EROS PHARMA / MANJUNATH NAYAK AWARD TO UNDER GRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS AOHK is celebrating the 65th Annual Conference on 4th & 5th July, 2015 AT API Bhavan, Vasanth nagar, BANGALORE In keeping with our practice, AOHK will present the Eros Pharma Award now renamed as Manjunatha Nayak Award during the conference to encourage medical students to incorporate the essence and values of Occupational Health Practice. This award is given to an Under Graduate Student of Medicine in Karnataka. The award is instituted by Eros Pharmaceuticals. It comprises of a cash award of Rs and a merit certificate to be given to the best writer on a given subject by an under-graduate medical student. Papers for the same are invited from interested under-graduate students on the theme of our Conference " Basic Occupational Health Services In Rural Areas" to reach the undersigned by 20th June, The Standards set for the submission of Scientific Papers are similar to those generally followed by other scientific societies. The Scientific Paper, neatly typed on one side of the paper, should be submitted to Hon. Secretary on or before 15th June, The Scientific Paper written in English should be submitted in a set of three copies. STUDENTS AOHK is celebrating the 65th Annual Conference of AOHK at API Bhawan, Vasanth Nagar, Bangalore on 4th & 5th July, In keeping with our practice, AOHK will present Sri Mohanmal Award, Dr. Mahadevan Memorial Award & AOHK Award for PG Students to the selected three best Scientific Papers during the conference. All members of AOHK Branch are eligible to submit their entries for Sri Mohanmal Award. All post graduate students of Community Medicine, Industrial hygiene health, safety, public health and occupational health related Post Graduate Students are eligible to submit their entry to AOHK award. However, only Industrial Medical Officer Members are eligible to submit their entries for Dr. Mahadevan Memorial Award. Please note that those who have received these awards during the past five years are not eligible to participate in either of these contests.
