1 LORAIN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES THE Common Application for Summer Scholarships Summer Semester 2018 Application Deadline is May 28, 2018 This summer, LCCC is again offering exciting opportunities in summer sessions. Whether you want to get ahead or catch up, summer is a great time to take those lab courses, electives, or courses you just haven t had time to take. Available Scholarships: 1. LCCC Non Traditional Incentive Award: The Incentive Award for Non-Traditional Students (IANS) is a privately funded award intended to help non-traditional students achieve a college education and training. The amount of the award varies per student and it can be used to help pay for tuition, fee, books, and other educational expenses including child care and transportation. The IANS is a need-based award. If the applicant does not have any unmet need as defined by the Federal Government, the applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average to be considered. Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Enroll in a minimum of 2 credit hours for Summer Semester by May 21, 2018 in a program leading to a degree or certificate. Be a new LCCC student or have at least a 2.5 GPA Possess a high school diploma or GED Must be considered an Independent Student, see application for further details. 2. LCCC Completion Award: New federal regulations prohibit students from receiving more than 600 Lifetime Eligibility Units (LEUs) of Pell Grant. Students are now finding out that they have no federal grant funding to finish their education without appropriate time for alternative planning. The LCCC Completion Award is intended to allow the students in this situation to complete their program of study at LCCC. Eligible for Pell, but no remaining LEUs Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Summer Semester by May 21, 2018 Program completion can be achieved within a maximum of two terms Cumulative GPA aligned with graduation requirements Must meet with Enrollment Service (Academic counselor or Advisor to determine schedule)

LCCC Summer Acceleration Award: Studies show that students who continuously attend classes, rather than stopping out during summer term, have a greater rate of successfully completing their academic goals. In support of that, LCCC has created the Summer Acceleration Scholarship for selected students who meet the scholarship criteria. Must complete a Free Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Summer Semester by May 21, 2018 Have a minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of awarding Be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress Not be Pell eligible for summer term 4. LCCC Summer Achievement Award: LCCC has created the Summer Achievement Award to assist with Summer 2018 tuition and fees for selected students who successfully enrolled and completed full time course work for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 terms. Up to six hours of funds for Summer 2018 tuition and fees will be awarded to students that meet the scholarship criteria. Enroll for Summer 2018 Pursuing completion of an LCCC certificate or associates degree Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of the awarding Successfully registered and completed between credit hours for both fall 2017 term and spring 2018 term.
