GPA: 75% for BC applicants and 85% for out-of-province applicants MCAT: Minimum Score, Numerically Scored Sections = 124 For the 2016/2017 application cycles applicants will be allowed to submit MCAT scores from three exams: 1) the old MCAT with four sections including the Writing Sample, 2) the revised MCAT with three sections, not including the Writing Sample and 3) the new MCAT 2015 with four sections (Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behaviour; Critical Analysis and Reasoning). Please note that if MCAT 2015 is written the MCAT 2015 scores will be used in evaluation. The Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick program will accommodate 30 of these students and the remaining 78 will attend the Halifax campus. $19, [includes ancillary fees] To apply to the undergraduate MD program, a four-year degree in any discipline from an accredited university is required. Although candidates with three-year degrees are occasionally admitted, a four-year degree is strongly preferred. GPA: Maritime Students: Minimum of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed. Non-Maritime Students: Minimum of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed. MCAT: Residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island: Minimum total score of 499. Can have only one section score of 124, but the total score must still meet minimum. Residents of all other Canadian provinces and territories & international students: Minimum total score of 503. Can have only one section score of 125, but the total score must still meet minimum. The Admissions Committee recognizes that the appropriate preparation for the study of medicine can be acquired through many varied educational backgrounds. There are no specific course requirements to apply to the MD program. 4

Each year, U of M receives over 1000 applications. $8,700 [Approximate - not including books, resources, and other general fees] Bachelor s degree completed no later than the end of June in the year of admission from a university recognized by the University of Manitoba. Adjusted Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 3.30 or higher. An AGPA is calculated based on undergraduate university degree level courses including those taken in a spring or summer session and during part-time studies. MCAT: The Admissions Committee has minimum standards for score results. Eligible applicants must have scored a minimum of 7 in each of the VR, PS and BS subtests and a minimum of M on the WS in a single session (if applicable). The WS will be converted on a scale where M=7, N=8, O=9, P=10, Q=11, R=12, S=13 and T=14. There are no exceptions. Given the recent introduction of MCAT 2015, minimum eligible scores have not been established. The total score will be used in the composite score calculation. Biochemistry. Minimum of 6 credit hours (full year or two academic terms) completed in Biochemistry at the university degree level with minimum grade of C in each course. Courses must be complete and a grade assigned no later than June 30, Biochemistry courses must be completed at a second year level or higher learning. Introductory biology, chemistry and organic chemistry are not acceptable equivalents. Humanities/Social Sciences. Credit hours completed in the Humanities/Social Sciences. Applicants with a BSc (General) or BA (General) must complete 18 credit hours in humanities/social sciences. Applicants who complete a 4 Year Major or Honours program may waive up to 12 credit hours of the humanities/social sciences prerequisite. 5

Submission of MCAT results are NOT required of: Applicants to the Med-P program; International Medical Graduates who have completed the Medical Council of Canada s Equivalence Exam (whether applying to MDCM with advanced standing or MDCM four-year program; Non-Traditional Pathways applicants. Full-year university-level courses, with laboratory work, in each of biology, general chemistry, and physics Courses in Organic Chemistry should be the basic or introductory courses into the world of organic chemistry. Though not required, university-level courses in biochemistry, physiology, cell and/or molecular biology are strongly recommended. 6

Several hundred applicants will be invited for interviews in Hamilton in March or April [194 Ontario residents; 10 Out-of-Province Canadian residents; 1 Other]; 5,271 applicants $27, including supplementary fees Minimum Three-year Bachelor's degree, official transcripts, autobiographical submissions, and a Multiple Mini Interview. Applicants must also complete a 90 minute computer-based test called CASPer, which assesses interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities. Successful completion of CASPer is required to maintain applicant eligibility. By October 1 st of the year of entry, applicants must have achieved an overall OMSAS converted average of 3.00 on the 4.00 point scale. MCAT: All applicants to the MD Program are required to write the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) prior to, and within five years of, the application deadline date and must release their scores to OMSAS by November 1st of the application year. No prerequisite courses, although many successful applicants come from scientific backgrounds. 7

The Admissions Committee takes account of an applicant's academic background, performance on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and information on an applicant's personal characteristics and achievements as given by the applicant, by referees' reports and, in some cases, by personal interviews. Applicants need to be aware of the policy related to Essential Skills and Abilities Required for the Study of Medicine. Does not have a minimum cumulative GPA or MCAT scores (except for the Other Canadian Provinces/Non-Canadian competition). For previous entering classes, the average MCAT scores have been approximately 10's on each section and Q on the Writing Sample and an overall academic average/gpa of approximately Six credit hours in English at a recognized university or university-college. 8

The context score is based on where you have lived and are living in Canada. Average GPA: A minimum grade point average of 3.00 on the 4.00 scale MCAT: Not required [will not be considered by selection committee] No specific courses required, though it is recommended that applicants present in their applications a broad-based undergraduate education. Applicants with majors in science should have completed at least two full course equivalents in the Arts, Social Sciences and/or Humanities, while applicants with majors in Arts, Social Sciences and/or the Humanities will be expected to have completed at least two full course equivalents in science within their degree program. 9

Minimum GPA: 3.5 [on a scale of four] MCAT: Candidates are recommended to write the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). The university will be accept applications without the MCAT for this cycle of admission. The MCAT scores this year will not be factored into the criteria for acceptance. One full-year course in General Biology/Zoology including laboratory session; one fullyear course in Humanities or Social Sciences [or two semester-long courses from two separate disciplines]; the equivalent of two full-year courses from the following Chemistry courses: i) General Biochemistry without laboratory session, ii) General Chemistry with laboratory session, iii) Organic Chemistry with laboratory session. Medical students must have completed a Basic Rescuer Level C [Adult, Child, and Infant] CPR course within a year prior to registration in the medical program. 10

Three Confidential Assessment Forms from referees, an autobiographical sketch, official transcripts, police check, proof of immunizations, personal information form, proof of Canadian citizenship, and an interview. GPA: Two undergraduate grade point averages (GPAs) will be calculated for each candidate: cumulative GPA (CGPA) and most recent two full-time years GPA (2YGPA). MCAT: As of May 2017, Queen s School of Medicine will no longer be accepting any MCAT scores prior to the 2015 MCAT. Therefore applicants applying in the fall of 2017 will be required to submit scores from the latest version of the MCAT. There are no prerequisite or recommended courses. 11
