4 Page 3 of 7 Fenelon, Andrew and Andrew Foster "Policy and Education Gradients in Cigarette Smoking and Obesity" in preparation GRANTS IN PREPARATION NIA R03 Geographic divergence in health and mortality in the United States, This project examines trends in regional disparities in health and mortality outcomes that have evolved over the second half of the 20 th century. The project considers the roles of health behaviors, health care access and quality, and state-specific investments in health. The relationship between this trend and the comparative performance of the US in the international context is considered.
