To have standardized test scores sent directly to Robert Morris University, prospective students should use CEEB code First-time freshmen must submit the following: Official high school transcripts or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) indicating successful completion of the program. Preference is given to students with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA. Official report of combined SAT or ACT scores. Preference is given to students who score a minimum combined SAT of 1000 (critical reading + math) or a composite ACT score of 22. RMU.EDU Robert Morris University accepts students on a rolling admission basis. As soon as all of your credentials arrive in our office, we process your application and notify you of your admission status. To begin the admission process, complete this application and return it with your $30 application fee. Transfer students must submit the following: Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required. Some academic programs require a higher GPA for consideration. If you have earned fewer than 30 college credits, please submit your high school transcript or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) indicating successful completion of the program. International students must submit the following additional information: SAT or ACT scores are not required for international students. If you have taken SAT or ACT tests, arrange to have the scores sent directly to Robert Morris University. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or IELTS score is required if English is not the student s first language. Minimum scores for undergraduate applicants are a 500 on the written TOEFL, 61 on the TOEFL Internet (IBT) based test, or a 5.0 on the IELTS test. 2 FINANCING YOUR EDUCATION Nearly 90 percent of our full-time undergraduate students receive financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, or work-study jobs) from university-funded, federal, and state programs. We cannot promise that you will qualify for financial aid, but we will do our best to help you receive all the aid possible. In order to receive the maximum consideration for financial aid, be sure to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in a timely manner. You should file your FAFSA by the deadline required by your state of residency (Pennsylvania s is May 1). TYPES OF AID Grants and Scholarships These are often referred to as gift aid, because students do not have to repay or work to earn these educational funds. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a student s level of academic achievement. The Office of Admissions will evaluate students for scholarship eligibility upon their acceptance to the University. There are a variety of grants available, which are awarded based upon a number of different criteria. Students should research the various grants available to students in their state of residency to ensure they are meeting the necessary requirements and deadlines for state grant consideration. Additionally, there are other types of federal and campus-based grants for which students may qualify. Educational Loans Student loans are a form of self-help aid that is subsidized by the federal government and carry lower interest rates than commercial loans. Students must begin repayment on the principal of these loans once they have graduated from or stopped attending college. The Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) is an additional loan which parents may borrow on behalf of their student. Student Employment The Federal Work-Study Program is another form of self-help aid. Students at Robert Morris University who are awarded this aid are given the opportunity to interview for available positions on campus and earn minimum wage working up to 20 hours per week. Additional student employment opportunities are available to students through the campus payroll program. TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. A Student Aid Report (SAR) will be sent to you via 7 to 10 days after you have submitted your FAFSA (you should keep the SAR for your records). If you are required to make corrections, do so online. A portion of FAFSAs will be selected for verification. If yours is chosen, you will need to complete and return a verification worksheet to the Robert Morris University Financial Aid Office. Some students and parents will be required to submit income tax transcripts from the IRS if the IRS retrieval tool was not used when completing the FAFSA. TYPES OF PAYMENT Robert Morris University offers a variety of tuition payment options for your convenience, including a deferred payment program and an interest-free monthly payment plan.
