Hamdard Institute of and Technology, Karachi B.E Telecommunication Visit Type Change in Nomenclature/Schem e of Study (Relocating B.E Telecommunication as B.E (Electrical) Date of Visit August 18, 13 Change in nomenclature/scheme of study of the program is not recommended at this stage. The Institute is advised to address all the observations as mentioned in the visit report and intimate PEC for confirmation/verification before the interim visit of B.E (Electrical) if planning to start "Power" stream. 11. The University of Lahore, Lahore (Main Campus) B.Sc. Civil Accredited Permission is granted to increase in Intake from 120 to 160 students per year (40 per section) w.e.f. Fall and onwards. Visit Type Change of Scope (Increase in Intake) Date of Visit September 17, 12. The University of Lahore, Lahore (Main Campus) B.Sc. Mechanical Accredited Permission is granted to increase of one additional section of 40 students from Fall- and onwards. After this, total three Visit Type Change of Scope sections of 40 section each with (Increase in Intake) cumulative strength of 120. Date of Visit September 18, 13. Electronics Under Process The Observations during zero visit have been addressed satisfactorily; therefore, the program may proceed ahead. Confirmatory visit shall be conducted to verify the compliance/progress report of HEI before next enrollment/intake):- 14 a) Laboratories need to be organized and their lists of experiments should include all major practical experiments. b) Lab manuals should be prepared properly and reasonable records need to be maintained regarding students lab performance and its assessment. c) Equipment in most of the major labs needs to be improved and arrangements should be made to utilize unused equipment for lab experiments. In this regard, lab engineers need to be trained properly. d) The problem of faculty shortage and retention need to be dealt on concrete basis. 15. University of Agriculture Faisalabad B.Sc. Food Under Process Visit Type Confirmatory (of Interim) Note: The house shown serious concern that interim visit was delayed by the university. The 1 st Accreditation Visit may be arranged after two months in order to confirm the progress/initiative regarding purchase of equipment in labs and starting construction of new dedicated engineering

15 Date of Visit October 28, block subject to issuance of the development budget for the program and start of development work. 15 As the batch 2011 has passed-out, therefore the presence of students pertaining to this batch may be ensured in the final accreditation visit in order to interact with them. It was observed that the whole younger faculty including those having PhD in Food are not comfortable with the working of retired teachers/reappointments whose basic degree is Agricultural, and therefore the faculty is not developed in the related discipline. The number of teachers without basic degree of Food must be limited. The retired professors have been re-hired on Rs.75,000/- as subject experts may fulfill the purpose/requirement for the time being; however, it is recommended that, after the appointment of relevant faculty of Food engineering, this concept of hiring the retired lot may be discouraged. 17. NFC Institute of & Fertilizer Research Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad B.Sc.
