The Department of Mathematics and Statistics believes that an undergraduate major should be both an introduction to more advanc study and a survey of the many facets of mathematics. From the profound insights Thales to the undecidability of Gödel, from the intuitive to the rigorous, from the abstract to the appli, with a solid emphasis on both the discrete and continuous cases, the Department expects all majors to be engag in a wide range of mathematical ideas. The B.S. Mathematics program is intend to prepare students for advanc study in mathematics or to work in business, industry or government. Admission Requirements: Meet the University admission requirements of a minimum of 2 earn semester crit hours and minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. Complete 8 crits of mathematics in courses number 121 or higher. Have a minimum 2.5 GPA in mathematics courses.
