OTC is a system with three campuses, two centers and an online college, serving over 15,000 credit students and another 10,000 students in workforce development programs. OTC has been repeatedly recognized as one of the most innovated and fastest growing community colleges in the nation. The President of the Table Rock Campus serves as the chief executive officer and is responsible for all academic affairs, student services, and campus operations. The Vice Chancellor serves as a chief advisor to the Chancellor for system-wide efforts, including fundraising, strategic planning, external affairs, and governmental relations. November 2014 Present Vice Chancellor for Advancement Student Affairs Strategic Planning and Executive Director of the OTC Foundation, Ozarks Technical Community College, Springfield, Missouri. Report directly to the Chancellor and served as Acting Chancellor in the absence of the Chancellor. Along with assisting the OTC Chancellor with system-wide efforts, the Vice Chancellor is responsible for supervision of 75 full-time and over 100 part-time employees in the following departments: Advancement; Student Affairs; Research and Strategic Planning; Enrollment Management; Governmental Relations; Development and Alumni Relations; Grants; Communications and Marketing; Creative Services; Web Services; and the Center for Workforce Development. The Vice Chancellor also leads the 29-member OTC Foundation Board of Directors, and is responsible for the college s fundraising efforts. July 2004 October 2014
2 Accomplishments In 2015, led a successful campaign effort to annex the City of Branson into the OTC taxing district, resulting in an additional $1 million in annual revenue. Since 2007, the OTC Foundation has raised over $32 million. These fundraising efforts have led to the creation of additional scholarships, allowed the necessary provision of support services to our students and support system-wide construction projects. Completed a successful Major Gifts Capital Campaign for the OTC Foundation by raising over $14.4 million, exceeding a $10 million fund raising goal. Since the conclusion of the Capital Campaign, the OTC Foundation raises nearly $3 million annually. Secured a gift of two buildings and 64 acres for the new OTC Lebanon Campus, valued at $3.1 million, from Reuben and Mary Lou Casey of San Clemente, CA. Received a multi-million dollar naming gift for the new OTC Table Rock Campus. Received $13.9 million in state and federal grants in the last four years resulting in innovative training initiatives in direct support of expanding and enhancing the regions workforce development needs, including transportation simulators, industry consortiums, human patient simulators, and more. Spearheaded the update of OTC Strategic Plan 2020 in 2013 as a result of a comprehensive strategic planning process. Created an annual planning report which aligns departmental planning, budgeting, assessment and review for the strategic plan, as outlined in the new Higher Learning Commission (HLC) criteria. Increased OTC s number of completers by over 74% since Beginning in 2012, the Back in Black campaign raised awareness and created excitement about graduation; resulting in a significant increase in participation in commencement. In 2013, OTC Student Services implemented improvements to the graduation process and communication efforts to better notify students who had met their degree requirements. Created academic partnerships with Missouri State University and Drury University. Created the On Campus, On Track program, allowing OTC students to live on the Missouri State University Campus. As measured by annual community surveys, OTC s public standing continues to improve. Over the past six-years, these survey results have shown that OTC holds the highest place in the opinion of our community compared to the other area higher education institutions. OTC garnered national attention and recognition for our 2012 website redesign. The new format has attracted inquiries from national and international college administrators seeking to emulate OTC s success. OTC led successful effort to develop and adopt an internal Missouri Community College Association equity funding formula. This formula, first implemented in fiscal year 2013, has already resulted in additional state appropriations for OTC. Strengthened relationships with the Governor and General Assembly through weekly communication. As a result, OTC has received equity funding since Commissioned a redesign of course evaluations and student satisfaction surveys online; allowing all students to participate instead of random sampling.
3 (ACCOMPLISHMENTS CONTINUED) Developed a comprehensive system-wide marketing and communications plan. Developed a new, comprehensive employee evaluation system which provides for a more complete evaluation process. College-wide Accomplishments Conducted a highly successful Higher Learning Commission Self-Study Report and HLC visit. Since 2006, OTC has added 54 additional full-time faculty positions to better accommodate increased student enrollment. The Bridge to Success program was implemented beginning in the fall of 2011 to better serve the growing number of students who enter OTC with developmental needs. These efforts have already produced success in increased rates of student course completion. OTC has seen enrollment growth of over 53% from fall of 2006 to fall of The Financial Literacy program was developed in 2012 to aid students with better communication and information regarding personal finances. Through these education efforts and process improvements, OTC has reduced the level of student loan debt incurred by our students. In fiscal year 2013, these efforts decreased student loan debt by approximately $11.2 million. As a part of the newly implemented Annual Planning Process, all departments are evaluating processes to look for improvements in the efficiency of resource utilization. Since 2007, OTC has completed over $27 million in major construction and renovation projects while still reducing our debt ratio. Despite increased enrollment and relatively low levels of public funding, OTC has dramatically improved its financial position. Since 1996, OTC s net assets have increased by over 92%. Reduced health premiums by 7% through the implementation of an onsite physician. Signed numerous articulation agreements with universities around the nation.
