1 Education That Works International Student APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION We are pleased that you are considering Clackamas Community College and are happy to provide you with our International Student admission materials. This information should give you the basics you need for admission to CCC. You can also visit us on the web at international. Frequently Asked Questions: When do I apply? We encourage you to apply at least one term prior to the term you plan to begin your studies. Filing deadlines can be found on our website at international: What if I am a transfer student from another school or university in the United States? You will be required to provide a completed International Student Transfer form. Can I be enrolled part-time?, all international students are required to maintain a full course of study (12 credits). Students admitted to the Program for International English must maintain a minimum of 18 class hours per week. Does CCC provide housing? We do not provide on-campus housing. All items listed below must be received by Enrollment Services prior to reviewing your application and the issuing of an I-20. Completed CCC Application for Admission $50.00 processing fee (please include an additional $65 to have your I-20 sent to you by express mail) This can be done by clicking on the Pay w with Peer- Transfer button on the International Students web site Official financial documents proving sufficient funds to cover all expenses associated with the proposed program of study. Additional details are available on page 4. Official transcripts from all prior U.S. post-secondary colleges or universities attended Proof of completion of high school or your home country s equivalent program Submit proof of English language proficiency by one of the following: TOEFL score of a 61 ibt or higher IELTS score of 6.0 or higher Completion of 2 college level (100 or above) courses in composition or writing with a grade of C or better, taken at a US post-secondary college or university Verification of Health Insurance form International Student Transfer Form (only if you are transferring from a school within the U.S.) Copy of Passport Participation in a college level course of study is not guaranteed by meeting the above minimum requirements. To be admitted into college level courses, a student must also achieve a placement test score of 70+ on the CCC writing placement test. If you are unable to demonstrate English proficiency at the required level, you will be placed in the Program for Intensive English (PIE) and conditionally admitted to college level courses of study. In accordance with DHS regulations, Clackamas Community College cannot offer admission or issue an I-20 until you have provided evidence that you have adequate funds for your proposed program of study. The estimated cost of attending at CCC for one academic year (9 month budget) for is $24, plus an additional $8, if you have a spouse and/or $4, for each child. Important!! 1. DHS restricts student employment. You should not expect to supplement your income with employment during your program of study at CCC. 2. Please keep copies of this form and your financial documents to present at the U.S. Consulate for your visa interview and to the U.S. Immigration officers at your port of entry. 1. International students may be admitted to the college if they can demonstrate proficiency in English and have the financial ability to pursue a full course of study in the United States. International students are required to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and complete at least 12 credits each term. Program for Intensive English Students are also required to maintain a 2.0 GPA and complete a minimum of 18 weekly class hours each term. Page 5 of 6
