Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs, to two outstanding students enrolled in the Third or Fourth year of the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program. Preference will be given to students in the Strategic Public Opinion and Policy Analysis Stream (SPOPA) studying public policy. Established in 2011 by Abacus Data and its Chief Executive Officer David Coletto, BPAPM/04. Carleton Academic Student Government Up to ten awards valued at $400 each. Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Carleton Academic Student Government Awards Committee, to outstanding undergraduate students. Up to two students from each academic Faculty will be selected. Eligible students will demonstrate academic excellence and active service learning through participation within the campus or broader community. Application is required. Established in 2012 by the Carleton University Academic Student Government. Adrian D.C. Chan Community Engagement Award & Graduate Awarded to a full time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an Engineering program with the Faculty of Engineering and Design to recognize exceptional volunteerism or community engagement. Application is required. The award recipient will be selected by Adrian D.C. Chan Award Selection Committee. Should the recipient be a graduate student, the award will be awarded by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Post-Doctoral Affairs. in 2009 by Dr. Adrian Chan. Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. Value $5,000. Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences, to an outstanding student proceeding from one year to another in a Bachelor of Science program in Earth Sciences. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement and demonstrated leadership with preference given to students with a demonstrated interest in the mining industry. Established in 2011 by Quadra FNX Mining Ltd. Wellington West Business Improvement Area Award Value $1,000. Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the School for Studies in Art and Culture/Music, to an outstanding music student in the performance stream. Application is required and eligible recipients must demonstrate financial need. Recipients may be invited to perform in a community event hosted by the Wellington West Business Improvement Area. Established in 2011 by the Wellington West Business Improvement Area. 1

2 Chelsea Club Awarded annually to a deserving student proceeding from one year to another in any program of study at Carleton University. The recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet OSAP's Ontario Residency requirements. The recipient must be of good character and be likely to make a contribution to Canada and its citizens by breaking ground in business, politics, academia, or not for profit organizations. in 2010 through the generosity of The Chelsea Club and in recognition of the Club s 84 years of history of service to the Ottawa community. Brianne Deschamps Memorial Awarded annually to deserving students entering or proceeding from one year to another in the Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts in Music program. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2008 by friends and family in loving memory of Brianne Marie Deschamps. Joseph Haché Awarded annually to deserving students entering or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study with the Faculty of Science. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must also meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2009 by Joseph Haché. Hamlin for the Centre for Initiatives in Education Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the Centre for Initiatives in Education, to students who have successfully completed the Enriched Support Program. Eligible recipients will have fully participated in all aspects of the Enriched Support Program and are proceeding into a program of full-time or part-time study at Carleton University during the following academic year. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2011 by the Hamlin family. 2

3 International Diplomat's Ball Awarded annually to a student entering or proceeding from year to another in any program of study. Preference will be for current or former members of the Canadian Forces. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. Special consideration will be given to students who were disabled during active duty. in 2010 by the generosity of Mr. Krishan and Dr. Shaline Gupta and proceeds from the 2010 Diplomat's Ball. Ameer Jinah Memorial Award Awarded annually to a deserving student entering or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study at Carleton University. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2006 in memory of Ameer Jinah by friends and colleagues in recognition of his dedication to academic excellence. The Just One Person Christine Lynds Memorial Awarded annually to an undergraduate student entering or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study at Carleton University. Eligible recipients will currently be or formerly have been in the care of the Canadian child welfare system. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2009 in partnership with the Ottawa Senators Foundation and Max Keeping Foundation. Awarded annually to students entering or proceeding from one year to another in the Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies program. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2011 by Adam Chiasson BA/2000 in memory of his mother Christine Lynds and her service to Carleton University. Susan Nesrallah Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Department of Music, to a student of classical voice enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2011 in honour of Susan Nesrallah s long term service to Carleton University through the generous contributions of her daughter, mezzo-soprano and Carleton music alumnus Julie Nesrallah, friends, colleagues and family. 3

4 Robynne Neugebauer Memorial Awarded annually to deserving students enrolled in the Second or Third year of the Bachelor Arts in Sociology program. Preference will be given to students who express the intent to pursue a career in teaching. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2007 by friends and colleagues, in memory of Robynne Neugebauer. Geoffrey Pearson Travel Awarded on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of Political Science and/or the Chair of the Department of History to deserving students. The purpose of the fund is to assist with the costs of student research about the United Nations and its member organizations and/or agencies. Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP's Ontario residency requirements. in 2011 by Landon Pearson, O.C., in memory of Geoffrey A.H. Pearson, O.C. Dawn Rodger Family Value $1,000. Awarded annually to a participant in the Management Development Program for Women with the Sprott School of Business who requires financial assistance to participate in the program. Preference will be for a program participant working in a non-profit, palliative care, or social justice position. Established in 2011 by Dawn Rodger. Travel for French Studies /Gra duate Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of French, to an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing who is enrolled in a French program. Should the recipient be a graduate student then the bursary will be awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs. The purpose of this bursary is to assist in defraying the costs of student conference or research-related travel. in 2011 by Dr. Roseann O Reilly Runte Friends of Art History Award for Art History Patrick Cardy Memorial for Music Was previously a graduate award Awarded annually to an undergraduate student enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program in Art History by the Friends of Art History. Revised Awarded annually to a promising Third year composition student enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program. Revised Julius Lukasiewicz Award in Technology, Society & Environment Studies Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Chair of the Technology, Society, Environment Studies Committee, to one or more students who have successfully completed at least one Technology, Society and Environment (TSE) course at the 3000 level or above and who are writing an honours project or essay. The theme of the honours project or essay must address the interaction of Technology, Society and the Environment. This award is intended to facilitate the formal publication and communication of the research arising from the honours project. in

7 Julius Lukasiewicz Award in Technology, Society & Environment Studies Awarded annually, if merited, on the recommendation of the Chair of the Technology, Society, Environment Studies Committee, to one or more students who have successfully completed at least one Technology, Society and Environment (TSE) course at the 3000 level or above and who are carrying out relevant research. The theme of the research must address the interaction of Technology, Society and the Environment. This award is intended to facilitate the communication of research. in 2002, revised D.F. McKechnie Award in Accounting A book prize awarded, when merited, to a student in Business for proficiency in the study of accounting. : D.F. McKechnie, C.A D.F. McKechnie in Accounting - OTSS Awarded annually to a full-time deserving student enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program with a concentration in Accounting. McKechnie, C.A., revised Robert Pickard in Environmental Engineering Value: Tuition fees for the fall/winter academic year. Awarded annually, when merited, on the recommendation of the Dean of Engineering and Design, to an outstanding full-time student proceeding from Third to Fourth year of the Engineering program who has demonstrated an interest in problems in environmental engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who attended a high school within the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton, and have shown an interest in municipal engineering. in 1990 by colleagues, friends and family of Robert Pickard, Eng. Cert. 1953, Commissioner of Environmental Services (retired) for the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. Robert Pickard in Environmental Engineering Awarded annually to an outstanding full-time student proceeding from Third year to Fourth year of the Engineering program who has demonstrated an 7

Recipients will have demonstrated financial need, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrants or protected persons), and must meet OSAP s Ontario residency requirements. 1997, revised OTSS Ontario Trust for Student Support program was established in 2005/2006 by the Gov. of Ontario to encourage companies & individuals to contribute to permanent endowment funds to assist Ontario s college and university students with financial need. Eligible cash donations raised by institutions are matched by the Province. The OTSS recipient must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a protected person, must meet provincial residency requirements as set out in the Ontario Student Assistance Program s Student Eligibility and Financial Need Manual and must demonstrate financial need. 10
