5 Background Student Health In February, the University System of Georgia awarded the student health insurance contract to Pearce & Pearce, a well-known vendor in the student health insurance arena. There are two plans which any student enrolled at a USG institution will now be able to secure health/wellness insurance at a reasonable cost. All USG institutions are required to participate in the USG student health insurance program and all institution must use the Pearce & Pearce as the vendor.

6 Student Health Background Mandatory Plan All graduate students receiving a tuition waiver as a result of a GRA, GTA, or GSA assistantship award. All undergraduate, graduate and ESL international students holding F or J visas. All undergraduate and graduates students enrolled in programs that require proof of health insurance. All graduate students receiving fellowships that fully fund their tuition.

7 Background Optional Plan Student Health Available to any student, undergraduate or graduate, not required to participate in the Mandatory Participation Plan.

16 Student Health Creating Submission File Student Health Extraction (ZSRSHIR) The lis file contains a list of the students included in the extraction file. Extraction file contains data to submit to Pearce & Pearce.

18 Load Waiver Data Student Health Student Health Load (ZSRHIEL) Creates a student record in the Exemptions Form (TSAEXPT) for specified exemption code and term.

21 ZSRSHIR Updates GAMods and Modifications to Parameters Level Parameter for Class Code removed. Selected from SGBSTDN Term Parameter for Attribute removed. Term code parameter added to ensure appropriate records are selected.
