4 Course Details Program Objective The backbone of the course is made up of bioengineering, environment and nanotechnology, three of the key areas of biomedical engineering for which HKUST has built its global reputation. Moreover, the program enables students to hone their understanding of and expertise in product development, process and energy integration, waste minimization and treatment, material sciences, biomolecular science, and biochemical processes. Curriculum Students are required to complete a total of 30 credits of coursework, made up of at least 12 credits of foundation courses and 6 credits of elective courses. They may also take a maximum of 9 credits of non-cbme postgraduate courses, subject to the approval of the Program Director. Each course typically meets once a week for approximately three hours.

6 Being an international student I was quite apprehensive about doing masters in Hong Kong... However, my one year Master s program here changed all my worries completely as all the professors, staff and students were very welcoming and kind which helped me settling in and feeling very comfortable I personally believe HKUST motivated me to push and better myself to a great extent.
