Colocalization of Androgen Receptors and Astrocytes in the Hypothalamus Jordan Lab, Department of Psychology, Advisor: Name, Pharm.D Honors Thesis Project Visualized male hormone receptors present in glial cells using immunocytochemistry methods and determined location of the brain where colocalization occurred. Findings suggested glial cells may participate in steroid hormone action in the hypothalamus. Mechanisms of Transmitter-Mediated Modulation of Calcium Channels Mount Sinai Graduate School of Biological Sciences Advisor: Name, Pharm.D Summer Undergraduate Research Program Using biochemical techniques, investigated interaction between intracellular synaptic proteins and calcium channels in neuronal signaling. PUBLIC HEALTH COMMUNITY SERVICE San Francisco State Health Fair Mental Health Project Provided pamphlets and handouts on mental health, raised awareness of depression and anxiety disorders and encouraged the public to speak to a health care provider regarding mental health issues.
