2 The Office of Career Services is pleased to share the results of the Follow-Up Study of the Graduating Class of The study comprises college transfer and job placement information for the 2004 graduates (August 2003, December 2003, and May 2004), completing the requirements for Associate Degrees and Certificate Programs. Sincere thanks are extended to the staff in the Center for Advisement and Personal Development for their help in conducting this survey, with special recognition going to Cathy Petruccione. The perseverance of these individuals resulted in an overall response rate of 28%. We hope you find this survey informative and beneficial. 4 INTRODUCTION Finger Lakes Community College awarded 763 degrees and certificates to the graduating class of 2004: 419 (55%) in Transfer Programs 324 (42%) in Career Programs 20 (3%) in Certificate Programs The information in this study is based upon the responses of 28% of this class. (1 low; 10 high) 8.4 GRADUATES REPORTING TRANSFER TO COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES: 99 respondents (47% of the total responses) indicated they are furthering their education full-time at 34 different colleges and universities. Graduates transferred to these colleges and universities: Empire State College (4%) Keuka College (10%) Nazareth College (6%) Rochester Institute of Technology (7%) St. John Fisher College (5%) SUNY Buffalo (4%) SUC at Brockport (18%) SUC at Geneseo (7%) SUC at Oswego (4%) Other State University Colleges (25%) Other colleges or universities (9%) 63% of those furthering their education are attending State University of New York institutions.

6 GRADUATES REPORTING EMPLOYMENT: 76 respondents (36% of the total responses) indicated that they were employed full-time after graduation. 10 TRANSFER PROGRAMS (A.A. & A.S. PROGRAMS) The Associate in Arts Program (A.A.) is primarily designed to transfer to four-year colleges. The Associate in Arts Degree is also utilized for job advancement. The Associate in Science programs (A.S.) are primarily designed to transfer to four-year degree programs. 19 CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS Finger Lakes Community College offers 9 certificate programs, which are designed to supplement an individual s education in specific areas and to update skills for those re-entering the work force. Many of the certificate programs will transfer into corresponding A.A.S. degrees.
