2 Statements & Search Criteria Mission InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is a campus ministry that establishes and advances witnessing communities of students and faculty on U.S. college campuses. We minister to students and faculty through small group Bible studies, large gatherings on campus, leadership training, thoughtful discipleship and lifechanging conferences and events. We focus on the college campus as our mission field because we believe today's university shapes tomorrow's leaders. Our vision is to see students and faculty transformed, campuses renewed, and world changers developed. Background InterVarsity Christian Fellowship has been in ministry on U.S. college campuses since Our roots are in a student movement that began at England s University of Cambridge in 1877 and came to the U.S. by way of Canada. Our triennial Urbana Student Missions Conferences, which began in 1946, have challenged more than 250,000 people to respond to God s global mission. InterVarsity Christian Fellowship has been present in the metro Richmond Area for over 45 years, most significantly at the campuses of Virginia Commonwealth University (46 years), University of Richmond (44 years) and Randolph-Macon College (12 years). Impact Accomplishments: 100+ college students being mentored. 60+ college students involved in service projects. 70+ college students participating in leadership training college Freshman being reached out to and connected with in a significant way. 75 college students volunteering as leaders in IVCF. Goals: 25% increase of total student involvement in Richmond InterVarsity Chapters. 25% increase of total student leaders. 30% increase of students being mentored. 40 more students involved in service projects. 1 to 3 more InterVarsity staff at current and prospective colleges and universities. Needs 1. Fully Funded ministry budgets of current staff at the following schools: University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Randolph-Macon College 2. New funding for new staff to go to colleges and universities without any InterVarsity presence; J. Sargent Reynolds Community College, John Tyler Community College, VA State University, VA Union University. 3.Scholarship money for students to go on Leadership Training Conferences 4.Community partnerships where students can volunteer 5.Volunteers as mentors to college students 6.Funding for outreach events on campuses and during Spring Break Areas Of Service Areas Served Areas Metro Richmond Colleges and universities throughout the Richmond, VA area. 4 Programs Programs College Ministries Description "Students and Faculty Transformed, Campuses Renewed, and World-changers Developed" Undergraduate Students: Developing future leaders and advancing witnessing communities in the Metro Richmond Area Graduate Students & Faculty: Encouraging students and faculty to think, pray, serve and live as scholars and disciples within the academic world. Multi-ethnic: Building campus communities across racial and ethnic boundaries. Urbana 2012: Mobilizing thousands of students for world missions through our student mission convention. Nurses Christian Fellowship: Making Christ known in nursing and the health care world. Urban/Global Projects: Training students in urban service projects and equipping students through short term cross cultural ministry. Budget $245, Long term Success Short Term Success Since the first Urbana Student Convention, more than 180,000 students, pastors, missionaries and others attended Urbana and it changed their lives forever. Through our work 39,137 people have been exposed to the gospel. 4

7 Management Executive Director/CEO Executive Director Term Start July Mr. Alexander (Alec) Hill Experience Mr. Alexander (Alec) Hill became President of InterVarsity in Previously, he was Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Seattle Pacific University, For the prior decade, he was a Professor of Law and Ethics at the university. In the early 1980s, he served as Regional Director for World Relief. Mr. Hill holds a B.A. in History (summa cum laude) and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Seattle Pacific University. In addition, he earned a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. He is the author of Just Business: Christian Ethics in the Marketplace, published by InterVarsity Press.
