1 Clinical Educators: Overview of Benefits Participate in clinical courses such as ACLS, IBU and PALS and be refunded up to 450 on successful completion; (see list of approved courses) Refunds available up to 450 on passing approved examinations; (see list of approved of examinations) Benefit from up to 14 days Educational Leave to support participation on approved courses, exams or professional development activities. Clinical Lecturers and Tutors are eligible for the RCSI Staff Development Scheme. Generous funding for degrees by research MDs, PhDs and MCh may be available for suitable candidates. Funded places on the RCSI Postgraduate Diploma in Health Professions Education available. Contracts of up to 3 years available. 2 List of Approved Courses RCSI will make a contribution (up to 450 per course) towards the costs of the following approved clinical courses which are undertaken within Ireland by Clinical Lecturers and Clinical Tutors Approved ClinicalCourses Basic Life Support / Advisory External Defibrillation (AED) Course ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support ATLS Advanced Trauma Life Support APLS Advanced Paediatric Life Support EPLS European Paediatric Life Support PLS - Paediatric Life Support PALS - Paediatric Advanced Life Support NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Programme Immediate Care Course Cardiac Immediate Care Course -Trauma Immediate Care Course Paediatrics Care of the Critically Ill SurgicalPatient Acute Life Threatening Events: Recognition and Treatment Acute Medical Emergencies: The Practical Approach The sum of the contribution towards these clinical courses will be 450 per course. In cases where the cost of the clinical course is less than 450, then the amount contributed will be the same as the cost ofthe examination.
