The regular membership includes a broad representation of forest resources interests including State and Federal interests as well as small and large private ownership representatives. Meets at least once per year Agricultural Council of Maine 23 directors and 13 associate members, consists of commodity group representatives and statewide groups with agricultural interests. Meets one or two times a year Maine Potato Board 12 members, consists of potato Growers, Dealers and Processors a cross section of the Potato Industry York County Master Gardener Association (Board of Directors) 9 members; consists of Master Gardener Volunteers York County Farmers' Network - Steering Committee 15 members; consists of citizen volunteers with farming expertise, mostly farm business owners Western Mountains Region Management Plan Advisory Committee (Bureau of Parks and Lands) 22 members; consists of representatives from natural resourced based organizations and businesses such as land trusts, guide associations, and trail clubs Met four times leading up to the development of the management plan Maine Healthy Beaches Program Statewide Advisory Committee 29 members; consists of local, state and federal partners Meets annually with subgroups meeting more often, at least four times a year Maine Scallop Advisory Council 13 members; consists of commercial scallop fishermen, Dept. of Marine Resources staff, scientists Meets six times per year Maine Sustainable Agriculture Society (MESAS) Approximately 200; consists of a mix of farmers, agricultural businesses and academic Board of Directors (eight members) meets quarterly Maine Beaches Conference Steering Committee 16 members; consists of coastal private property owners, recreational beach users, municipal officials, state agency representatives, federal agency representatives, regional planning representatives, teachers, and students Meets at least monthly for seven months in the year of the conference Ornamental Horticulture Council 15 members; consists of two representatives from each trade associations the serve the ornamental horticulture industry. Advisory Boards for Student Affairs Counseling Center The Touchstone Advisory Board is in the process of converting to a Counseling Center Advisory Board. Residence Life Residents on Campus (ROC)--membership changes every year, five executives/officers and one representative from each building (only one from Patch/DTAV). RA Advisory Board: Two RA representatives from each complex (only one from Patch/DTAV). First Year Advisory Board: This is a new board and membership recommendations have been made but not finalized for FY12. Campus Activities and Student Engagement Campus Activities Board (CAB)--this long-standing board has been inactive for two years but is being re-invigorated this year. Membership is TBA. Campus Recreation Student Employee Advisory Council: Membership changes every year but is comprised of student employees from all areas of Campus Recreation. Career Center Health Professions Advisory Board VETS VETS Advisory Committee: Comprised of student veterans, staff and faculty UMS University Advisory Groups 12

13 Unum Leaders UMaine Retention Advisory Committee: New this year with the initiation of Unum Leaders, the membership is TBA CNTSP Non-Traditional Student Prog. Advisory Committee: comprised of students, staff and faculty Other Boards (maybe not exactly advisory boards): 1) Broadcast Media Board 2) Publications Board 3) Wilson Center Board (not our board but we have standing membership) 4) Greek Alumni Board (forming this year) The University of Maine Board of Visitors Currently 20 voting members; consists of 10 women and 12 men from a range of backgrounds, including but not limited to law, military, marketing, engineering, finance, business management, communication, policy, education, and nonprofit management. Sixteen of the 22 members live and work in different regions of Maine. Meets at least four times per fiscal year University of Maine at Augusta UMA Board of Visitors 17 members, consists of a diverse group of community members including Dentists, Retired Educator, Attorneys, Business owners, Directors, Presidents and/or Vice presidents of local companies Dental Health Program's Advisory Board 12 members, consists of three dental assistants, three dental hygienists, three dentists, a dentist representative from the Veteran's Administration of Togus, a consumer patient representative and a community health representative (seat currently open) Meets most often once a semester Veterinary Technology Advisory Board The size of this group varies, and consists of veterinarians from the community, one student, faculty and staff from the veterinary technology department UMA Foundation Advisory Group Five members; consists of one part-time Faculty member, one staff member, and three external community members Meets every other month UMS-Bangor Advisory Council 17 members; consists of nine Community Leaders and eight UMA Representatives Meets twice per year UMS University Advisory Groups 13

14 Computer Information Systems Advisory Board Four members; consists of a web developer, two CIS alumni UMA/UMO, and a project director that works with internship program for the CIS program Met in the Spring of 2011 Business Admin/Financial Services Advisory Council Seven members; consists of a professor of business economics, the CEO of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, the CFE Staff Auditor at Carrigan Acct Assoc, LLC, two graduates from the program, and two community members who hire UMA graduates. Met in the Spring of 2011 University of Maine at Farmington Development and Fundraising Alumni Foundation 15 members; consists of UMF alumni who are current and retired civic leaders, educators, and businesspersons Meets three times a year Alumni Council 11 members; consists of UMF alumni who are current and retired civic leaders, educators, and businesspersons Meets three times a year Board of Visitors 25 members (17 serving terms, eight termed out and now advisory members); consists of current or former Farmington community members (educators, lawyers, and businesspersons), with the exception of a former UMS Trustee. Community Events and Outreach Emery Community Arts Center Advisory Group Five members: three Farmington community members (arts patron, retired educator, and local businessman) and two Portland community members involved in the arts. Meets four or five times a year Emery Programming Group Nine members; group consists of three Farmington community members (artist, editor of Beloit Poetry Journal, Board member of Arts Institute of Western Maine), four UMF arts professors, UMF social activist staff member, and UMF student Meets times a year Girls Talk Teen Voices Advisory Council (RSU 58) Nine members; consists of seven RSU 58 teachers or officials, UMF professor, and UMF professional staff member UMS University Advisory Groups 14

This advisory group facilitates service opportunities, internships, and field experiences for students in this program. University of Maine at Presque Isle Board of Visitors 15 to 18 members; consists of representatives from all geographic areas and most businesses Foundation Board 12 to 15 members; consists largely of representatives from the business community Aroostook Partners for Progress and Leaders Encouraging Aroostook Development Two economic development bodies in the County and the President sits on board and has been active participant in numerous activities including the Mobilize Maine initiatives Momentum Aroostook Area s young professionals group; UMPI was of the founders and keeps a close relationship through the Young Professionals Program UMS University Advisory Groups 16

17 Young Professionals Institute 10 to 15 attendees; consists of recent entrants to the professional business community. Instructors are UMPI personnel and senior business leaders Eight week program Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce President has served on the Board along with other UMPI personnel--several are in leadership positions Central Aroostook Council on Education UMPI staffs the gathering of area school superintendents and host the regular meetings; President reports monthly to the Board and the Education Chair and faculty work closely with it In addition, there is a wide range of other UMPI involvement in leadership and followership in local arts and cultural organization, sports and outdoors groups, and religious communities.
