1 CURRICULUM VITAE Updated: 9/1/09 Adam R. Moylan, Ph.D. Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics 814 California Street, #9 University of California, San Francisco San Francisco, CA California Street, Suite 380 (415) San Francisco, CA (415) RESEARCH INTERESTS A general problem that motivates my research in education and psychology is to investigate the theoretical and practical issues involved in enhancing learners' self-regulation. Although there are numerous models of SRL, I focus on a perspective informed by social cognitive theory. This theoretical approach has the advantage of including motivational and social sources of selfregulation in addition to cognitive and metacognitive sources. Recent and ongoing research has included the following topics: - Enhancing self-efficacy beliefs - Assessment for learning - Metacognition and motivation - Calibration - Feedback and self-reflection processes - Life-long learning EDUCATION Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), New York: Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts: B.S. in Psychology, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2009 to present Assistant Professor, Division of Geriatrics, Department of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco 2003 to 2008 Research Associate, Center for Advanced Study in Education, Graduate School and University Center, City University of New York 2000 to 2003 Research Coordinator.
